Safest, most beautiful beach, well kept beach front home for relaxing/ocean sport
"A perfect strip of clean, swimmable sea and deep-golden sand, it is still in pre-hotel mode" as written by The Guardian news paper about Maculis beach.
We have named our beach house and your perfect vacation spot Oasis because it is our “island” of tranquility, peace, solitude, and beauty. The beach, Maculis, where the house is located is 1-mile-long expanse of volcanic sand with a natural breakwater of volcanic rock 500 yards out in the Pacific Ocean. This breakwater makes for one of the safest and calmest beaches around. With no rip tides, only small waves, and with the warm water, it is as if you were in a gigantic hot tub. When the tide is out, there are tide pools at both ends of the beach that are great places to snorkel (we provide masks and snorkels) and look at the colorful fish and fauna. If you are into more active sports, there are sit-on-top ocean kayaks to take out and paddle along the coast. If you are really adventurous, you can paddle to the beach at the far end of Maculis, Playas Blancas, and surf the waves in a kayak. If you bring your surfboard, a number of surfing beaches are close by. If you like to fish, you can do so right off the rocks or rent a skiff (panga) with a guide and go angling for red snapper, grouper, or mahi-mahi If you are interested in getting away from crowded beaches and tourist traps, then Maculis is the place you are looking for. You will find very few people on the beach and very little activity except for the artesian fishermen coming in early at the far end of the beach in their pangas with the catch of the day. You can buy your lunch directly from them. Red snapper, filet of sole, grouper, and lobster are just some of the catch that may be available. The house is what is called a rancho in Spanish. It is a modern 2-story structure with 2 bedrooms and a complete bathroom upstairs. The upstairs master bedroom has a balcony with ocean views and is a great place to have breakfast or drink wine and watch the sunset. The other upstairs bedroom sleeps 4 people. On the ground floor is another bedroom that sleeps 4 and looks out on the ocean. It comes with a complete bathroom. The rancho also has a kitchen with a serving counter looking onto an open-air social area – a large expanse under a thatched roof made of palm fronds and renewable teak saplings. This is a great area to eat, drink, play games, or simply listen to the waves. Hammocks can be strung between the teak pillars for comfortable reading, satisfying naps, and relaxing sessions on your wireless devices. There is wireless 3g Internet connection. It’s slow, but you can receive and send emails. With patience, you can also surf the web. The house sits on almost half an acre of beach-front property. There is a house for the caretaker and his family in the back part of the property, completely separate from the main house. The property has over 80 coconut trees, and the ground is mostly covered with grass. There is a sandy area coming off the beach where kids can play inside the property. The caretaker and his wife are on call 24 hours. They will make your beds, clean the bathrooms, clean the social area, and wash dishes. They can get you fresh coconut water from the many coconuts, find you fresh fish, and run errands. They are very friendly and helpful people who are there to serve you. They can also cook you simple meals. They aren’t Cordon Bleu chefs by any stretch of the imagination, but they can rustle up tasty local dishes. If you want to get out and visit a coffee plantation, volcano or just go sightseeing we can help you arrange the trips with a car and English speaking guide. It is only 1 hour and 45 minutes from the El Salvador international airport is your and our “Oasis.” We can help you get transportation if you need it. We are confident you will enjoy our Oasis as much as we do. Please contact us if you have questions or comments.

Not enough nice things to say about our experience at this property. Owner was very attentive. The property was great on probably the best beach in El Salvador. I can’t say enough nice things about the caretaker. Overall it was a wonderful experience and vacation
It was the most beautiful house ever, everything was so clean, the ocean was amazing and the lady who took care of the beach house and her daughter was incredibly sweet towards my family. Her cooking was so good I almost didnt wanted to leave. My daughter was very happy with this experience. I would come back again.

My fiancé had the most wonderful time during our stay. We had a hard time leaving. The property was absolutely stunning, comfortable and an Oasis as described. We enjoyed every minute relaxing and sitting by the ocean. Marian, Raul and Tania are some of the nicest people we have ever met. We cannot wait to visit again. Phil’s communication is top notch and he continued to check in on us to make sure everything was ok. We will be back! Thank you all!!
I loved everything about this property. The house was beautiful, the property was beautiful, comfortable rooms, the property manger was extremely nice and helpful. The ONLY complaint I have is that there was no pool like mentioned in the listing. Again - i understand there might be reason it wasn’t up, or not in use, just wish it was communicated beforehand! All in all - I would still rent this property again.
El Oasis is perfect! The house is right on a beautiful beach, the yards were very well maintained and the home was very comfortable. Our family travels quite a bit and has stayed at a lot of rental houses. El Oasis is one of our favorites. The hosts Marina and Tonia were amazing! They are by far our favorite hosts ever! They made us feel at home and were so helpful with anything that we needed. They cooked dinner for us several nights and the food was amazing. They are amazing people and it was very hard to say goodbye to them and El oasis. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We arrived late at night to the property and needed some help finding it and Marina was on the phone to help us and open the gate. The property is so cleanly and is very beautiful with great views. Marina was so lovely cooking for us and showing us around town. Highly recommend!!!
The location is a bit farther from the typical beach homes that are about a 30 mins - 1hr from the airport, but the extra drive time is worth it. This part of the country is very relaxed and chill, the house is wonderfully maintained and has all the perfect relaxation accommodations. The beach is one of the calmest in the country and very private. But best of all is the family that takes care of the property - Marina and Mauricio are the best: willing to let you just enjoy your time but also available if you need anything. Marina is willing to cook if you bring the food and they can get wonderful seafood for delicious meals. Of course tipping is a must, but you will be happy to do so because everything is perfect. All the rooms have air conditioning that work wonderfully and the views of the ocean are outstanding. We love it here and will be going back again and again.
During our stay in El Salvador we stayed in 4 separate properties, this one was the very best. The property was exactly as described. The owner had excellent communication and was extremely accommodating with some special requests. The property host and her daughter were amazing. They prepared numerous meals and upkept the property throughout our stay. They were both very helpful when we explored the area, though we really enjoyed just staying at the property. The beach was not busy at all, often we were the only people out. The area is very quiet, not in a busy area, but close enough to nearby towns to explore/eat out etc. Out of the 4 properties we stayed at, we slept the best at this one. The bedrooms have AC and nice bathrooms. The beds and pillows were so very comfortable. I cannot say enough positive things about this property. Hoping to return soon! Thank you Phil, Marina & Tanya!

Place is awesome, really show beauty of El Salvador
We research different places and beach areas in El Salvador and the decision was great. I spent a week at this beautiful place with my parents, close friends and my 9 year old it is hard to describe how perfect it is. From big tall palm trees around the house and pool, to really nice rooms with air conditioning and a really cozy open lounge area downstairs with very comfortable "amacas". The location cannot be better, the house sits at the back of the lot away from the street and has access to the to clean private beach with views of the mountains in the back, perfect for paddle boarding or boat trips around the mangroves for bird watching or fishing or just relaxing in the sun. If all that is not enough, the caretakers are the most friendly people on earth and provided us with local information, they went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. Mauricio, Marina and their kids treated us like family. The house is kept immaculate by Marina and Mauricio. Don't look any further if you have a big group, this is the place to stay!! We all agreed that this place was great.

Complete Relaxation
We had a wonderful weekend at the Oasis. The caretakers were very attentive to us and our dog (they have multiple friendly and non-aggressive dogs on the property). The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Towels were readily available. The AC was great and took the edge off the heat and mosquitos at night. Farther out, the ocean is a little rough but there is a lot of beach to play and you can walk out quite a ways before it gets deep. We never worried about our security or privacy. The kitchen was well stocked with cups, ice, water, and pots and pans. We brought all of our food with us except for the chicken and lovely seafood meals prepared by the care takers. Several pounds of fish, lobster, shrimp, and chicken cost us less than $35. We will definitely go back again. The owner was easy to deal with and readily available to answer questions.
For our family to get away spend some time with each other relax and enjoy the beauty that is the coast of El Salvador. Marina and Tania were wonderful keeping the house clean and cooking for us. We sent them to go get some groceries such as fish because we were not really prepared for bringing so much of what we should eat. I was told there was going to be spices and there really was only salt. I assumed that we could walk and go get fresh fish ourselves but that was not an option. But it all worked out in the end. If I was to come back to this place again I would definitely come well supplied but not just miscellaneous chips cereal grains but basically everything you would need in your own kitchen to cook the food you want.
The little market that’s not too far by had some things that we needed such a simple spices. We also have been picked up some Popsicles.
The sunsets were unmatched and the walks along the beach were entertaining and relaxing. Our eight-year-old granddaughter liked Playing in the surf. The house itself was a great layout for a group. We are all very happy with our stay with recommend it highly to anyone

Best Rental I've had
I have been teaching in San Salvador for 3.5 years and have rented numerous houses with groups during that time period and this is the best experience I've had by a long shot. A few friends from the US were coming to visit, so with that in mind my priorities were a place with stuff to do in the ocean, an owner a trusted and liked, and a good community that represents the best of El Salvador.
The beach outside the house has much smaller waves due to a line of rocks around the cove that the rocks crash into, by the time they reach the shore they are a fraction of their original size. Their are 4 kayaks at the house which we made full use of during our time there. I also brought my surf boards and the little waves turned out to be perfect for learning how to surf. They had a boogie board at the house which my friends used as well. Their also seemed to be much more all around the ocean that places further west along the coast in El Salvador.
The owner was immediate with his responses and genuinely cared that I had a good time. He even called once while I was there to make sure everything was going well and to let me know where the best surf was because he knew that was a priority and I think the caretaker told him I wasn't having the best luck. He was very willing to also set up tours and make sure that we had everything we needed and wanted while staying at the house.
Finally, the community was amazing. The caretaker is a middle aged man named Mauricio who takes care of the place with his wife and two daughters. There are a few others from the community that get involved in the coco collecting and the fish for our meals. They are extremely good cooks as well. We had fish for both nights that we stayed and chicken for lunch on our second day. A neighbor even did a turtle release right on the beach in front of our house.
People must not choose this house because of the distance (its about a 2.5 hour drive from San Salvador), but I have to say that the drive is totally worth it! The views were great, we surfed waves on kayaks, surfboards, and boogies boards, we saw amazing sunsets and wildlife, we at amazing fish, and it was great for relaxing too. Not lost on me was how genuine and local the experience was. The caretakers family, the dogs morning ocean ritual, the cows strutting up and down the beach, the random football games on the beach, it was all too perfect. I was really sad to leave and can't wait to go back soon!
Our family love this place, Carmen and her daughter excellent care takers, we bought food and they cooked for us and we love everything they made. The location is far but worth the drive, secluded and comfortable specially if you want to be off the grid. WiFi very spotty, I really want to disconnect no TV no WiFi.
My family and I spent four days at this beautiful place. The home was very well kept, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. We had a great time at the beach and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets - it was just perfect! The caretakers, Marina and Tania were very helpful. They were always willing to go above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. I will definitely stay here when I go back to El Salvador and back to Oriente.
Arrived without any complications with the directions given. House was just as the pictures. The house keeper Marina and her daughter Tania were very friendly and informative. My family and I really enjoyed the house. Thank you!
This is a beautiful place to relax and spend quality time with family in a private setting. The host was extremely attentive from the beginning, and the caretaker, Marina, went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely rebook if available on our next trip to El Salvador. Thank you Phil, for all you did🙏😊, we loved your place!
A bit off the beaten path but well worth it. Extremely helpful and kind staff, Marina and Tonya accepted us like family. Antonio our driver was exceptional, he was knowledgeable about the area, took us to get our covid PCR test before returning and even helped fill out the papers, then picked them up when done. the property is beautiful and well maintained. We couldn't have asked for anything more, had a great experience.
We visited this lovely little place for two weeks . Marina was AMAZING ! The view was spectacular ! The home had more than enough room for everyone . We will def be staying here again in the future . The owner was super accommodating and responsive to our messages . We were greeted by marina with fresh coconuts and beautiful beach towels. This was our first stay over seas and it was def a good experience. This home was the nicest home on that stretch of beach. Supper quiet and relaxing . Beach access in the back yard and a pool for the kids. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay with you !
My family and I spent almost a week at the Oasis home and we all really enjoyed our time there. The home was well equipped and clean. We had everything we needed for our stay and more. Mauricio and his family were always very helpful and Phil was always responsive and informative. The location is very serene and a great place to unwind. I would definitely stay there again when I am back in El Salvador.

Could not have been better!
The Oasis beach house is paradise! I went with a group of friends and we had a fantastic time. What with the kayaks, snorkeling equipment, bicycles and a beautiful beach how could someone not have fun.
The caretakers were just great too. Cooked up all our meals, no need to leave the house. We had fresh fish, lobster and they even got oysters for us. Mauricio cooked up a good roasted chicken for us one noon. Marina cooked up some very decent breakfasts and did a great job with the fish.
We didn’t have to do a thing other than enjoy the sun, beach and the solitude of this beautiful place. No crowded touristy beach here. Other than some local fishermen we were the only ones there.
The house is beautiful and well maintained. Good AC, the beds are comfortable, the furnishings in the bedrooms is sparse but nice and one doesn’t spend much time there anyway. The house was well equipped with sheet, pillows, blankets, towels,
soap, and shampoo even beach towels. We felt like we were at a resort.
We didn’t use the kitchen since Marina did all our cooking but it has everything, stove, microwave, coffee maker, small oven and all the utensils that one needs. Lots of ice and bottled water too.
Be careful to bring any special foods you may want. There are no supermarkets nearby (30 minutes away) and the small stores nearby have just the basics. We brought our wine, most fresh vegies, coffee, wheat bread and pastries.
The “rancho” or gazebo in front of the ocean is a fantastic place to hang out. With the hammocks, rocker chairs we would sit, drink our wine or beer, watch the waves and chill out. A great place to take naps with the sound of the waves.
There is a sea turtle nursery next door and while we were there we had the luck of watching them release the baby turtles into the ocean.
We also watched while Mauricio’s helper climbed the coconut trees ( no OSHA here). Really scary and then we had fresh coconut water, the real McCoy, not the packaged stuff!!
Like General Mac Arthur said “I’ll be back”!!
Thank you Mauricio and Marina for such a great time.
