"Locations was good, room was clean, but lots of ants and lizards around the rooms, staff were friendly, but lots of restrictions, my daughter came to visit I paid extra charges for few hours, food was included in our package but they charge for water and all other non alcoholic beverages"

"The hotel overal is beautiful. The food and amenities were amazing as well. The staff who help with luggage and the front desk were very helpful and stopped at nothing to ensure you had the best stay. The waiters in the restaurants however need more training. They take a very longtime to bring drinks or off any help often bringing the wrong order. This would not have been an issue if it were once or twice. But it was all the time at all the restaurants. Often no one ever comes to your table to see what you want to order. But everything else was amazing."

"Breakfast menu offered a large varied choice to suit lots of tastes and requirements. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was good, beach clean quiet and secluded from public access. Rooms were large with all good working order facilities, modern and comfortable. Pool large and clean offering beach and sea view. 3 on site restaurants offer buffet, a la carte or bar meals. "

"Quality of property did not match the price, the food was terrible, the WiFi was shoddy, and there were no blankets on the bed — only sheets — so we were cold all night. We came from Lux Le Morne, which was truly luxurious, and the difference in quality was stark. This is the second Riu I’ve stayed at and the first was similar, so I’m inferring that this is just the brand and will not try another one."

"Absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are lovely, we stayed in a suite - room 747. And every few room sections there is a pool. The beach directly in front of our room was quiet and peaceful - in fact the whole resort felt very quiet even though it was Easter and it is a family resort, it’s so big that it felt relaxing. There were a number of restaurants at the sister hotel - La Paradis which we often walked to (there is also a shuttle bus that takes you there running every 15 mins). The spa was lovely. There were tennis courts, a well kitted out gym (not that we used it)! There were Beach bags in the rooms for us to keep (so don’t bother bringing one!), Bring sea shoes as the coral is sharp in places. Saw a turtle on our first day snorkelling. But it’s not an area for snorkelling I would say - We were half board which was sufficient for us. Things to improve: Allow breakfast to run later than 10am "

"La Pirogue is one of the loveliest hotels in the world! A well-balanced mix of laid-back island charm, with professionalism, friendliness, fun activities and the best hotel food you will find anywhere (mix of authentic local and themed international, always something for everyone and a classy pastry section straight out of Paris!). The grounds are picturesque and immaculate, whilst the staff are amazingly friendly and attentive. Cannot recommend La Pirogue highly enough! "

"We absolutely loved our stay at Happy Days Guesthouse in La Gaulette and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The guesthouse has such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind. Its location is excellent, with a great variety of restaurants and shops all within walking distance, which made everything very convenient. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, with plenty of room to feel comfortable, and we especially enjoyed having a balcony to relax on. It’s worth noting that there is no lift, only stairs, but this didn’t take away from our experience. The staff were truly wonderful. They were so warm and welcoming and made the whole place feel like home. We genuinely didn’t want to leave. Breakfast each morning was a highlight, with delicious fresh seasonal fruit and a French baguette that we simply couldn’t get enough of. The guesthouse is also ideally located for exploring, with beautiful beaches just a short drive away and many must-see spots in the southwest of Mauritius nearby. Overall, a fantastic stay in a lovely guesthouse. We would definitely recommend it."
