Staff very friendly and did every thing to make the stay comfortable. unfortunately the hotel is in very poor condition: stained carpets, stained walls even crumbling walls, broken power points, television next to useless, no iron in the room, WiFi unable to do anything. i choose to sleep fully dressed, did not use the pillows as they looked and felt very odd and old. only showered due to business meeting, towels and toilet clean which reflects on the effort staff are making, money needs to be spent by Ramada.

I stayed at this hotel and unfortunately it was the worst experience. I turned off the A/C immediately because it was freezing and still till the next day it was cold. The bed was 2 twins put together. The bathroom was appalling with ancient style and not maintained well. Even the toilet had permanent stains. The staff was not helpful and the pool area was a joke. I would never ever go to this hotel again. The business center had computers from the 1990's with internet that took 30 mins to dial up!!!!!! Worst experience and uncomfortable in every aspect.

not a good hotel to stay
I didn't enjoy my stay there. There were three computers for guest but only one was working and extremely slow. The tv was old and the bathroom was old. It's located in a place with nothing around but apartments and few small shops-nothing interesting at all. They don't have any information on places to go or sites to see. No phone access to international calls.

Rude Staff members
Reception staff was extremely rude, unfriendly, inhospitable and unwelcoming. Actually the manager, who was supposed to be the most welcoming member amongst the whole team, was the worst. He shouted at me when I tried to put my luggage beside me at the lobby saying that it is not allowed and luggage must be placed only near the entrance!! This is the first time in my life that I see a hotel which does not permit guests to place their belongings near the place where they are sitting in a lobby. Regardless than their weird policy, he did not need to yell to express his opinion and ask the porter to move my things without considering me or my opinion about this. When I wanted to make a complain about this and asked for the manager, it ironically appeared that he was the reception manager, so I tried to place a complain and he was not even listening to me, he was typing on the keyboard while I was talking, answering phone calls while I were speaking and was not even looking at me, it was if there weren't a person standing there talking to him, it was very offensive, completely rude and impolite. And when I asked him for a contact number for the hotel’s manager, he simply refused to give it to me claiming that he does not receive any calls from guests! How would a hotel manager not have a business contact number?!
Don't get fool with the rating. Not even 3 star rating.
Bed still had hairs from the previous stayer and stain marks on bed comforter. It was a shocker, i have to change the hotel.

Great service
The swimming pool was not operational and looked as if it was under repair and not a bit like the photo in the ad. Is this the normal look for the winter months? (we stayed here in December).
There was a Mosque at close proximity to our room and although it looked beatiful non muslims may not appreciate the 5am prayer through the loud speakers.
The food was very good.
We ordered a meal in our room on our first night and were very impressed with the way it was served.
It would be helpful if signs could be put up on the corridors where the bedrooms are requesting guests to keep noise to a minimum.

A Once Grand Dame
I stayed at the Ramada Kuwait in Nov 2011 on my way back from Afghanistan. I chose this hotel based on a previous review that I could catch a cab to Ali al Salem air base for a relatively reasonable rate (which turned out not to be true -- the cab was $100 one way to Ali al Salem.)
This hotel was probably once a jewel. It shows signs of age and clearly hasn't been overhauled since it opened 20 years ago.
The lobby is impressive with its 8-story ceiling. A forest of white oak trees was felled to provide the oak paneling and trimwork throughout this hotel (I am a carpenter, so I notice such things.)
The rooms are OK -- nothing spectacular. The bed was extremely hard. The TV didn't work until they came to change the batteries in the remote. Of the 25 channels, only 3 or 4 were in English -- no Sky News or CNN.
The biggest disappointment was the bathroom. Everything worked but it was just old and showing signs of deferred maintenance. Tile and grout lines were stained. The toilet ran continuously and a maintenance call didn't seem to have any effect.
The breakfast buffet was good. Standard western and Middle East options. The omelet station was nice.
The highlight of the stay was the Indian restaurant. Granted that I had been in Afghanistan for a year eating dining hall chow so anything different would have been notable, but the lamb korma I ordered was outstanding. A pint of beer would have been nice, but I settled for fresh mango juice.

Not too impressed
I only stayed at the hotel one night on my way out of Kuwait. First upset was that the beautiful garden shown online does not exist, it was one of the main reasons I choose this hotel. Upon entering and walking around the hotel, most of the staff barely spoke English and the manager in the woman's fitness center was rude. Also make sure you take a swim cap if you go here as you have to have it for the pool and jacuzzi. My bathroom smelled like 10 year old cigarette smoke. On a positive note the restaurants were nice and the food was good. There was internet in the rooms and an airport shuttle. The seperate fitness centers for men and women was good and included work out equipment, pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Overall for a 4 star hotel I was not impressed. I got a good price on Orbitz so not too upset about the money I spent as the room itself was comfortable.

Good Location
I travel extensively. This hotel was very inviting, gorgeous front hallway. Good size rooms, quiet. The air conditioning was not working well so the room was musty. They did work on it when we told them and the second night was much better. The staff were friendly. Housekeeping did not respond very quickly but when they did they did a good job. I would go again, great location, near the airport and near some restaurants. A bonus is the internet is included, breakfast is included which was quite nice and they pick you up at the airport and drop you off. They were on time for this which was nice.
