Samanea Beach Resort & Spa
6/10 Okay
"Beautiful resort, great food, and it’s delightful to be right on the beach. Unfortunately the room isn’t designed well. The bathroom looks beautiful, but using the tub wasn’t possible due to mosquitoes. Further, the door between the toilet and tub is a glass shower door, so the exterior door and its tall threshold is between the toilet and the bed, so anyone who needs the toilet in the middle of the night has to fumble with the key and chain and risk tripping over the threshold. There is also a pendant light hanging low over the outlet for the hairdryer so that even average height people will bump into it while drying their hair. This is not the experience I expect at this price point, and it should have been easy enough to avoid: screen in the outdoor bathroom, install the exterior door and its tall threshold on the exterior, and raise the pendant light.
The staff could also use more training. It was repeatedly pointed out that we were only staying one night. Of course it’s good to confirm this once at check in, but beyond that unsolicited comments on travel plans feel awkward. There was also a situation at breakfast where the staff seated us, then inquired about our room number, then pointed out that they had reserved a different table for us. Again, awkward! If tables are reserved for certain rooms, staff should confirm guests’ room numbers before seating them. If a mistake was made, why make that the guests’ problem?
Lots of potential; just needs a few improvements."

Summer Resort

"This place was really sweet. I would stay again for sure! My view was incredible. It was a 10 min walk from the crab market and restaurants and a 20 minute walk from the beach. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. I liked it because it was a tad up the mountain so really quiet but still close enough to walk to things. Also, you can walk up to the national park in about 5 minutes. There is a cute coffee shop up there. (Need to pay park fee). Totally recommend. So fun.
I spent tons of time on the balcony enjoying my amazing view.
A couple of things to note. The restaurant is not operational so you need to go out for food. Also, the pool is older. Not so clean and lots of broken tiles. I saw people swimming but I didn't go. "

"I rise in love with this place! The setting, amenities and facilities was perfectly designed. Quiet and welcoming. It feels like rainbow magic forest. The room is very clean and it has everything you need. Having a kitchen is a big win.
The team is very lovely people. The Kep Paradise! I want to come every year just to chill here. That’s how I felt! 100 stars! "

"We really like the couple who run the place. Super friendly and helpful. We walked the 8 kilometer loop around the national park and enjoyed that. Really great views."

Riviera Hotel & Resort Kep

"Large room all 8 rooms had a sea view it was a bit out the way but a tuk tuk was only $2 to the crab market we walked back at a slow stroll and it took us about 45 minutes with lots of food carts along the way. The pool area was very quiet the only down side could be for some that there was only one parasol. Breakfast cooked to order overall I would recommend this small hotel."

Saravoan Hotel Kep

"Staff very friendly, only stayed 1 night. The air conditioning really did not cool the room needs to be replaced or repaired. The door handle and lock needs to be replaced and or updated it seemed like it was ready to fall off. The view was very nice. Good location. For the price compared to other hotels I was disappointed considering the air conditioning and door lock. No elevator so if you do go there understand you’re gonna carry your luggage up and downstairs..other that those things it was a nice stay. "

"Mr Rinn , the hotel manager was so helpful and courteous. We could not fault him. Thanks Rinn. However, the resort needs upgrading and is somewhat rundown even though staff clean it very well. The gardens are also maintained which is a plus. The pool is clean but needs fixing in places. The rooms are dark and out of date so need upgrading too. We talked to Rinn about it and gave some suggestions.
Breakfast is also weak, no Khmer or healthy options, no fresh fruit juice which is available. This needs changing too."

Vakara Hotel Kep

"Great hotel. I just wish it was closer to the beach but its nearby Kep crab market. We got a 2 bedroom bungalow. Accommodated out family well. My wife and I got a separate room. Both rooms were very nice and clean.
We did order room service. Food was good. We mainly ate the american food items and it was delicious. "
