Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Even though the building is old and isn’t as visually appealing as others around, the room was comfortable, warm, hot water, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and there was a drive through coffee shop out front.
The hotel is conveniently located and offers easy access to all areas. The room and bathroom are clean and tidy, the heating is adequate and easy to use, and the online service provided by Ms. Michelle was excellent and always helpful, clear and prompt.

Liked: Cleanliness
Room was clean, bed comfortable. An older inn with well worn fixtures. I like the secure entry system. I would definitely stay here again
Decent property clean rooms. There is no manager onsite. Not a lot to do or see in Kenai but ok for an overnight stop.

$200 for what felt like a 1970’s property seemed REALLY expensive. A Hotel without a front desk, restaurant or staff. Unit was clean, nice size. Windows seemed broken but I was able to figure out how to open them. 6am garbage truck was a bummer.
Stayed here while dipnetting. Excellent location. Great value. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Check in/out was very easy. The only thing was the bathroom door handle was installed backwards and my kids thought it was hilarious to lock me in the bathroom. 😂 10/10 would stay here again.
Quaint place in an old strip mall. Room was nice but no staff on site meant we had to text when we needed anything. Took an hour to bring us a blow dryer—which is pretty standard in rooms so not sure why there wasn’t one. Ran out of toilet paper on our final day (we were provided only one roll) and asked for more about 3 hours before we left the room but no one ever brought us any. Room was clean and comfortable though. However the drapes were mostly sheer and we tried to pull them closed as best we could but could not block out a lot of the light. You would expect better curtains to block out light in Alaska.
My family and I stayed at the Kenai Inn for a two-day trip to a high school football game. Take this review with a grain of salt, but after a few days of reflection, here’s my honest impression.
Upon arrival, my very first thought was of the great Eagles song “Hotel California.” Earlier that afternoon, Michelle, the hotel manager, had texted me the access codes for the front door and our room, explaining that this was a virtual check-in and to simply text when we arrived and checked out.
Walking in, the place gave off a charmingly rustic 70s vibe. The quiet, empty lobby and lack of a front desk greeting added to the “Hotel California” atmosphere—no one to check us in, and, as it turned out, no other guests all weekend. Slightly eerie… but also kind of cool.
Our room was on the second floor and featured two queen beds. It was surprisingly spacious and much more modern inside than I expected. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom worked just fine, and the water? Scalding hot perfection!
The only hiccup came later that night—it got pretty warm, and there was no thermostat in sight. After some good old-fashioned “man skills” tinkering, I managed to crack open the window and let in that crisp Kenai air. Problem solved.
Bonus perk: there’s a local coffee hut right outside. Just a fair warning—when I knocked on the window at 7 a.m. to say good morning, I nearly gave the poor barista a heart attack.
All in all, if you’re looking
Room was clean, hotel was quiet. Bed was ok, had a 3" foam matress pad which helped, but there was an obvious pit in the mattress. Could improve the room lighting as just 3 table lamps. No desk personnel, given codes to enter hotel and room but no problem getting in. Grocery store nearby.
Staff is super friendly. Hotel is being remodeled but very clean and you can't even tell. The rooms are comfortable, clean and very homey vs the very hotel set up at most places. Will definitely stay here on my next visit to the area.
