"It was very clean. The room and facilities were beautifully kept and very new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However we were surprised at the extra charges for two futons for our children at ¥3000 a piece as well as the ¥3000 late arrival fee, which made it much more expensive than we originally thought. "It’s a clean , old Japanese style hotel with excellent service and reasonable price."

"Great stay. Enjoyed the private Spa."

"Very good place and hospitality. "

"The facilty is old & the room smelled of cigarettes, but everything else was wonderful. If looking for authentic Japanese experience (for the working and middle class Japanese) this is a very good experience. Dinner and breakfast buffet was really good. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area. "

"This was my first time to stay in a Ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) and I really like it! The hotel was a bit old but still in good condition. They have indoor & outdoor hotspring pool plus many other facilities for you to enjoy during your stay. Buffet breakfast & dinner both were great too. Free shuttle service available too to pick up from/drop off to Kagaonsen station. Thumb up!"

"Helpful staff, a lovely room, excellent food and beautiful surroundings made our stay a highlight of our visit to Japan. Highly recommended for people who enjoy stays in quieter villages. We will return."

"Great Japanese breakfast. Onsen was clean and relaxing. Some nice local restaurants and bakery next to hotel."

"The city itself seems dead. Very few tourists. Hotel, There is a few employees working, therefore response is very late."

"Berry good ！"

"Wonderful place. Greeted as we drove up, valet parking. Room was so nice and clean. Everybody was amazing and it was all perfect. "

There were stains on the walls and doors, the hallways had a faint smell of disuse and mildew, it was entirely unpleasant. Now, I'm well aware that we had selected this place because of its lower room rates (compared to the other onsen in the area), but truth be told, the price wasn't that much lower...
