I stayed one night at Bunkahaus. The hotel is very close to Taksim Square, which makes it super convenient for exploring the city. The receptionist was very friendly and professional, always ready to help and answer any questions I had. Everything was clean and well-organized, and I had no issues during my stay. The only downside was that, because it’s near Taksim, there was quite a bit of noise at night. Other than that, everything was great!

Had the deluxe room. Best location (right in the beginning of İstiklal Street and just behind the French consulate), friendly and helpful staff, clean... Needs a bit renovation and rejuvenation, but in general one of the best options for especially short stays.

October 2023 Excellent hotel, staff, location. Stayed at Bunkahaus for 4 nights. Bekram and Maya were extremely helpful, calling places on our behalf. The hotel is just off Taksim Square so it's very convenient for getting around. If you close the windows and turn on the AC, you won't hear minimal street noise, or the call to prayer. The large room was only US$55 pn and comes with all the usual amenities (tea/coffee, TV, safe, soaps, etc). You're 1 street down from "the" Istikal Street so there's unlimited eating and entertainment. We are very happy with Bunkahaus, and if we return to Istanbul, we would definitely stay there again.

Location is amazing, at the heart of the famous Taksim square, very close to all the restaurants and coffee shops and bars and entertainment. Very close to the metro station and bus station, and there are many taxi cabs around. Check in was very easy and staff was very friendly and helpful. Elevator worked very well, but it is only for two people. Internet also worked well. TV has good channels. Hot water was good. The following are the negatives. It may get really noisy on weekends because there are so many teenagers hanging out on the street and drinking until morning. In the morning cleaning and trash people made some noise. Room Cleaning also needs some improvement because they were hair either from previous person or the cleaning staff around. Also, I couldn't run the heater on AC, but the central heating system was working fine. Bed was very comfortable however, they have one type of pillow which was too high for me.
