"I booked this hotel specifically because it advertises convenience for passengers departing the Schengen zone. I was flying American Airlines to the US and this proved to be entirely inaccessible.
My Cloud Hotel sits inside Terminal 1’s secure zone. American Airlines departs from Terminal 2. With checked baggage that couldn’t be processed at Terminal 1, I had no way to reach the hotel. Airport staff also flagged that checking in here means temporarily exiting the Schengen area — requiring a second passport control the next morning before reaching Terminal 2. That was an unacceptable risk before an international flight.
I called the hotel repeatedly between 9:00–9:30 PM with no answer. I called Expedia customer service in the USA who also spent ~10 minutes trying to reach the property on my behalf, they were also unsuccessful. I paid $220 out of pocket for an alternative hotel and got less than five hours of sleep after a full day of travel. And now there is entire day of travel to USA, and then internal USA travel.
The hotel may be fine for Terminal 1 passengers. But Terminal 2 travelers with checked baggage cannot access this property, and that is not disclosed in the listing.
Clearer communication would prevent others from facing this situation."
