As expected, 2nd time we’ve stayed there, great location for us (5 adults and four dogs), roomy, clean, wonderful living area and kitchen. The outdoor area was great- the outdoor grill was used every morning for cooking breakast. The grounds were wonderful for the dogs!Convenient for our family event and close to Winona for grocery shopping!
House is so nice. We did scrapbooking and sewing and there was alot of room in the sunroom and dining room to bring tables . The kitchen is fully stocked and great for cooking with others alot of room. We watched movies at night and that was very comfortable. Plenty of room on the 2nd floor for all of us to stay. We will be returning for sure.
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was well outfitted and clean. We enjoyed walking through the pines on the west side of the property. Very quiet location.
The perfect place for a quiet county getaway. Close to La Crosse, Winona, and Rochester. The house is beautifully renovated, and the property has walking trails, a firepit, and outdoor activities.
Beautifully renovated farmhouse and surrounding property in peaceful, rural atmosphere
Our family of four greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful farmhouse. The surrounding area is very rural, so it is an incredibly peaceful place to stay. About a 30 minute drive from Winona, La Crosse, and other cities with plenty of things to do. The house had everything we needed. I only wish the weather had been a bit better so we could have fully enjoy the outdoor spaces. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay for a family looking to enjoy this beautiful area of southeastern Minnesota.
It is a nicely renovated family farmhouse, immaculate and comfortable. Great beds & linens, well-stocked kitchen, and land to explore. The house is close enough to the river, Winona, & LaCrosse for outings; far enough away to feel remote. Recommend!
The house was wonderful, Fantastic kitchen! We were here for Christmas so we didn’t use the outside amenities, but they look awesome. We hope to come back again in the summer! Corey (our host) even went out of his way (last minute) to find a Christmas tree for the house. We highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a tranquil and relaxing experience! Well done
Great little house with lots of outdoor activities and areas to chill. Our only complaint was the bedding & towels were very perfumed (dry sheets we suspected) which irritated our family members with scent sensitivities.
Everything about this property is wonderful. The house is immaculate and fully stocked with everything you could need. The grounds are beautiful--when we weren't playing yard games or exploring the trails, we were relaxing on the porch. The owners are very responsive and so helpful. I can't say enough good things!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. The house was clean and comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and overall it was lovely. All the outdoor space was wonderful and our kids had so much fun walking the trails and playing frisbee golf. The firepit and provided firewood was amazing. We really liked learning about the history of the farm as well. We'd love to return sometime!

We enjoyed our stay at this completely renovated farmhouse. The owners put a ton of work into modernizing the house into a fully functional house with all the amenities while keeping the charm of the original home. The highlight has to be outside. The adjacent gazebo and fire pit are awesome. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a rural getaway or family gathering.
This property is so comfortable. We loved the huge firepit and enjoyed one night of a beautiful evening by the fire and stargazing at the Milky Way. Sadly, the rest of the week was rainy and cold but at least we got in one good one! The house is very spacious allowing plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and relax! The huge kitchen was delightful for cooking and very well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and even a few food items! We loved every minute of our stay!
Wonderful home. Beautiful location. I cannot overstate how absolutely perfect everything was. Home clean, comfortable, lots! Of towels. Washer and dryer too. Lots of firewood. Perfect outdoor kitchen with fire pit. We woke in the morning hearing the birds. coffee on the front porch continuing conversations from the evening before. Absolutely wonderful home in beautiful SE Minnesota.
This location was absolutely amazing, exceeded our expectations and will certainly be a return destination for us and the family and friends that visited us during or extended stay! The description of the property, the location, the amenities, the photos - all accurately represented this property.
The farm was the perfect setting for family gatherings, with many outdoor activities available on-site, spacious indoor gathering room(s), and cozy nooks for some quite time. For an adventure, there are lovely small towns that surround this gorgeous bluff country.
Our host(s) were easy to connect with and supported us during our entire stay. If we could have taken the spacious kitchen home with us, we would have!
Thank you so much for giving this Minnesota-native family a place to relax and gather - it was a welcoming and much appreciated break from the heat of Arizona!
This property was nothing short of amazing! We spent most of our time in the kitchen, as I booked this house for an intimate Thanksgiving with my partner’s family. It was snowing, so we weren’t able to explore the outdoor aspects too much, but there is a closet in the basement with outdoor activity supplies such as baseball mitts and balls, beanbag toss, and quality frisbees for the course. The kitchen was the perfect space to cook a Thanksgiving feast, and the dining room area sat us all comfortably. The soaking tub was sooooo nice, and the hosts were thoughtful enough to provide candles and a few bath bombs for our stay! Overall, this property is a 15/10, and I cannot say enough good things about it. You do need to take a gravel road to access the house, but the road is maintained very well and handles well without AWD even in fresh snow.
Spent a week here with my wife and kids and my in-laws. Really enjoyed the hiking trails and disk golf. Kids loved their kids room. There was an assortment of outdoor games to use there. Property manager was easy to get a hold of when there was a slight issue during check in (which seemed to be a messaging issue on VRBO's end). House was really quaint and cozy. Beds and linens were clean and house seemed very well maintained. Fire circle was nice in the evenings and wood was provided. The house also had the best assortment of kitchenware of any place we ever stayed. During our stay we visited Great River Bluffs State Park, Winona, toured on the La Crosse Queen, picked apples in Galesville, WI at Ferguson's (great place for kids 1-10), and I road the gravel roads around Ridgeway, Witoka, Houston, Hart, Money Creek, and Hokah on my bike. Got to see professional cyclist Chase Wark ride by the house too, who was also in the gravel bike race I was in, in Hokah.
My only suggestions is to change the lights in the house from the cool blue lightbulbs to warm yellow bulbs (personal preference). Also add a few more homely touches to the farmhouse. Pictures of the farm through the years and the Smiths would be neat (I love learning the history of places).
The home and property were beautiful. With an older home I worry about temperature control, but this house kept us cool and comfortable despite the hot weather. They provided so much for activities, cooking, and just overall enjoyment. You get great views for sunrise and sunset! We loved this home!
We had a wonderful stay at the Smith home. Corey had everything we could have needed to make us feel at home. The disk golf course, putting green, cornhole boards and bocci ball set were an extra bonus that provided plenty of activities for us.
Very modernly renovated and updated farmhouse in the country. Great amenities such as kept up hiking trails, disc golf, nice firepit, and blackstone griddle. Close enough to Winona and LaCrosse for city activities as well.
This is a beautiful property and location! We loved the farmhouse, renovations, decor, room to roam outside, fabulous grill area and fire pit, and truly appreciated all the thought that went into providing such an efficient and gorgeous space to cook, sleep, play while in the area to visit extended family. There is a space for everyone at Smith Family Farm!
We enjoyed 5 nights at the Smith Farm and loved it. The house is really nicely decorated and there is everything you need to be able to cook family meals. The sunrise and sunset views both are lovely!
the disc golf course is great and the dogs loved the ability to run the property.
The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels, etc, as well. thank you for such a lovely property! This is close to our daughter's school, so we will be back!
This was our first visit to Minnesota/Wisconsin and the Farmhouse was the perfect jumping off point for our father/son fishing trip on the Upper Mississippi. The house had all the charm of an old farm house but updated with top of the line amenities. It exceeded all expectations! The only thing missing was a good pair of binoculars to see all the local wildlife from the front porch…bald eagles, deer, turkey, black squirrels,…
