L'Hotel n'a jamais trouve notre réservation faite plusieurs mois a l'avance dans leur dossiers et nous ont offert de reserver a nouveau a un prix beaucoup plus cher que prévu. Malgré que nous avions notre reservation imprimée de ce site, ils n'ont rien trouvé du tout dans leurs fichiers. Nous avons dû trouver un séjour ailleurs selon notre budget, alors que tout etait complet sur l'île.

a ubicacion del establecimiento es buena, cerca de la playa, el Moai y el centro. El trato del personal y la dueña muy bueno, ayudandote en todo lo que necesitas. El precio es caro, como todo en la isla. Estaria bien que cambiaran los colchones de las camas.

Was für ein wunderbares Hostel! Alle sehr herzlich und die Lage ist fantastisch. Man geht aus der Tür raus, biegt um die Ecke und blickt auf den Pazifik. Jeden Morgen gibt es ein feines Frühstück, es gibt auch Rührei und Avocado. Auf dem Grundstück läuft auch ein so süßer, brauner Hund herum. Weiß leider nicht, ob er jemanden gehört, aber er ist so lieb und freut sich mega über Streicheleinheiten und ein bisschen Leckerli. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Das war wundervoll! Danke dafür!

Charming, relaxing, no-frills, perfect location

Hostal Sunset is a charming no-frills hotel in a great location. Accommodations are very basic, but clean and comfortable. There are towels and soap provided, but no shampoo/conditioner or hair dryer. Perhaps you can ask for that, but we came prepared with our own so wasn't needed. There is a small refrigerator and hot water kettle in the room. Also tiny old TV. We never got the wifi working, but weren't trying that hard. Internet is generally very slow on Rapa Nui and it's a place to go to disconnect. Go with the right expectations, and you won't be disappointed. The breakfast was very basic and limited (not a buffet, just what's on your table), but enough to get you going in the morning and a nice perk. The eggs were really good, but not offered every day. Speaking of eggs, there are roosters on the property, so prepare for a wake-up call (though I think there are chickens/roosters everywhere in town, so there's really no escaping it). The hotel garden/grounds are very nice and the patio in front of the room is a very relaxing place to sit. The location is perfect. It's an easy walk to nice restaurants along the waterfront, as well as to the center of town, and Ahu Tahai (the mandatory place for sunsets). China, the owner, picked us up from the airport and gave us a nice overview of town on the way to the hotel. She then sat down with us and gave us even more information on where to go and when. It was very helpful to get advice from a local. She also spoke perfect English.

sunset hotel is a total chill pill. much need after the chaos of south america. China the owner is awesome and always ready to help. i'm fairly low maintenance but nevertheless China checked in on me daily. I was there for 5 peaceful nights. tou need at least this many nights to experience the islands full spectrum of treasures. great breakfast served with a smile and commentary pick up and drop off to the airport. what more could you wish for? thank you China
