There was one person responsible for check-in and cleaning rooms. When I went in the bathroom was disgusting and looked like wasnt cleaned prior to our stay. The guy at the front desk had to run in and try to clean it between other guests coming in. The owner just sat on the chair and watched everything while casually chatting on the phone... no motivation to help. A cockroach was in the bathroom of another friends room...
This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. First, We weren’t getting in til 1:00 am and upon arriving drove right pass the hotel because it is no longer called the Garden Plaza but us a Clarion/Roadway. If I had known it was A Roadway hotel we wouldn’t have chosen it since they have a reputation of being less then stellar. The room smelled old and musty and when I took my shoes off the carpet felt damp as if they had washed it but it had never dried. You could hear the people in the other rooms on both sides with one guy snoring in the adjoining room and on the other side the voices coming clearly through the vent in the bathroom. In the morning the people were obviously smoking with the smell coming through the same vent. I couldn’t wait to get out of there the next morning.
I changed room two times because they was dirty an
Changed room two times the rooms was dirty and too Much flies and the odour is disagreeable
I asked others sheets to change m’y bed, the employee asked me to get out.

Stay away needs a lot of work
I will not recommend this hotel, false advertisement for one. We were on a couples get away for the 4th of July weekend. Took 20 min. to find the hotel because it is a Clarion not Garden Plaza, also the address is different from the e-mail I received. I chose this hotel because of the pool and pool bar. The pool area smelled very strongly like cat urine, so we did not get in the pool and there is not a bar on-site. I can not comment on the breakfast because it was served in the pool area and we stayed away from there. We went tubing the 2nd day, when we returned house keeping had not been to our room. A lady apologized and brought us 2 towels. No washcloths or small towels for the floor. Both nights we tried watching TV and the cable continually went out. This hotel should not be open, though it looked like it was beautiful 25 years ago, it needs major updates and cleaning. I wish I would have read the reviews and didn't go by the pictures.
This hotel was more like a motel. Check in was horrible, my first room was filled with flies (literally dozens of them). My second room was damp and clammy. . It said it was non smoking but my room reaked of cigarettes. The tv barely worked. The bathtub was missing knobs. Never, ever again.
This was an awful experience it was a pool but it was only open until 9 p.m. there was continental breakfast mention but what they offered was so cold cereal no juice some milk sausage as some sort of a it did not look appealing I will not consider this a continental breakfast and it was all cold. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
The hotel ended up being a Clarion, there was no signage for Garden Plaza. The text confirmation gave a different address than what is listed online. Our room was not cleaned. My kids found a pack of condoms on the floor. The shower curtain had mold and the tv console had broken in doors hanging off. I have yet to receive my room deposit back that was supposed to be refunded immediately.
This the WORST place that I have EVER stayed. They are NOT worthy to be on your website. The service is nasty. The sheets were DIRTY! Bed was broken. The bathroom was disgusting and I had to personally clean it myself. The breakfast was practically non existent. Everything was FILTHY and appeared as thought they have been around forever. I was hoping for my children to go swimming cause the pictures looked great, but the pool looked like you could catch something if you even got near it! Not worth the money ! And they overcharged me! Not worth anything but to be TRASHED !!!
RUN!! DON'T STAY HERE!! This place is so disgusting, the rooms are dirty, smells musty, sheets were ripped, tub was clogged, towels smelled dirty, carpet is old and customer service (Rita, a manager) needs to learn customer service skills!!! They advertise it's Garden Plaza Hotel but it's really a Clarion! Tell you hot breakfast until 9am, got there at 820am & everything was gone & nobody around to refill it. Another guest was upset & they threatened to call the police on him just for speaking his mind! Then I asked for an empty cup for coffee but was told no because it was 9:05 & breakfast was only until 9am!?! This has been the worst experience of my life & would never stay here again!! Clearly their manager doesn't care about pleasing customers & havin return visits.
I randomly booked a stay here for the fact that they have an indoor poor. When we arrived they were remodeling so it felt like we were in the way. Checking in was fine and the lady was really nice but that was it. The pool had chairs stacked up along the wall so it naturally gave me a feeling like we shouldn't have been there, plus the pool was too cold which made it impossible to enjoy so we left right away. I'm sure the hotel will be better once the remodeling is complete so I'd give it another shot but just from this past weekends visit, it wasn't good.
Horrible experience the breakfast was so bad... there was only some nasty eggs and a loaf bread that expired 4/16 on May 2 horrible food safety mine as well don’t even offer breakfast if that’s what’s gonna be served. Will not return. Room smelled bad too . Will recommend to stay away.
Overall a poor hotel. Very dated. No free coffee. Free breakfast was a joke. Breakfast bar was not staffed and was a complete mess. Cereal, waffles and coffee was the only things available. I could go on and on but please avoid this property. I have a feeling it will not be opened long
Distrusting. Honestly worse place i have ever been. Roaches were all over the pool area. And breakfast wasn't long enough of an option. Will never stay here again and hope others are more aware.
the pool area, front desk attendant, & scrambled eggs were nice but the room was so dirty that if we had the energy to repack our vehicle after driving all day we would have asked for a refund & left. also, while the indoor pool area is nice, its only open 9am-9pm...not the best hours for families traveling through.
It had an indoor swimming pool. Unfortunately, it was too cold to swim. It has breakfast. Food not so good. Nice room appearance. Outlets hard to access. No plug in bathtub. Bathroom could use some cosmetic attention. Strobe light over bed was annoying.

I liked the layout and what they had to offer. What I didnt like is how dirty the room was especially under the bed. My girlfriend took vidoes and will b posting them soon. There was blood on the bed and on the walls. Light fixture was hanging out of ceiling. Then after 2 hours the clerk comes busting in trying to say I was smoking in my room. That's bull crap cuz yeah I smoke but not in a hotel that charges 50 bucks cash when u check in on site. I tried to make a complaint but the clerk demanded I get out and would not cooperate with me when I asked for names and numbers. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone ever
The desk clerk kindly gave us a handicapped room, even though we had not mentioned ahead of time that one would be appreciated. The room was a good size and clean. There was no water and glasses for drinking in the room. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Using the handicapped shower caused water to cover the entire bathroom floor, so we stood in water when using the sink and toilet. The breakfast was lacking, no bagels or donuts, just a loaf of white bread, still in the wrapper, sitting on top of an empty case. There were waffles and orange juice and scrambled eggs, which were much appreciated. The breakfast seating area was cold. The exercise room was not available, and I am on a cardiac rehab plan where I needed to use it. Signage needs to be addressed. We approached the hotel from the north(or east) on Dual Highway at night and had trouble finding the hotel.. We hope these things could be addressed because the architecture with the focal point of the complex being the pool area and the use of stone and real plants (among the plastic ones) could make this a beautiful place.
Cold, dirty, cold, everyone except person checking us in not friendly. Nothing like pictures. Should not be open to the public

Will do in a pinch
The hotel was moderately clean, with comfortable bed, but the room smelled musty, like the furniture came out of your grandmother's basement. Beautiful pool area. Continental breakfast was a joke. Very weak coffee, stale cereal (only raisin bran and cornflakes), only loaves of white bread with a jar of jelly (not individual packets), no fruit even though there was a sign saying fruit. When we arrived there were half a dozen police officers conducting some sort of business involving a guest. No one offered any explanation or assurances. Someone had placed wash cloth over the smoke detector in the room and i wasnt tall enough to remove it.
