Trailer park style motel, very basic but clean.

We had a 1-bed with sofa bed which was too small for 4 adults. The common area was tiny with a card table & folding chairs that were not so comfortable. It was cheap so we got what we paid for. It would have been fine for 2 adults. The unit was clean and the beds were comfortable, even the sofa bed. We had to call for a kettle and coffee pot (I don't do Keurigs with those horrible land fill pods!!).

It’s good for the price. It was clean, comfortable, and I appreciated having different heat controls in each room! However there is a dehumidifier in the main room, which runs all the time. We stayed for a week so we would shut it off at night so we could sleep and leave it on during the day. We had to empty it a couple times and it was full! The property is old, but has been refreshed with new paint, flooring, etc. which explains the dehumidifier. We didn’t have anything to scour dishes with, as the brush wasn’t doing it, so we couldn’t get some stuff off our dishes unfortunately. The cleaning staff on site was lovely, but there are no other staff on site, you have to text or call if you need anything. We were disappointed that the website indicates they have a common/games room and a little store, neither of which was open any of the days we were there. Not sure why, and we didn’t see anyone to ask about it. They do have a fun little laser light show at night. Overall it’s probably great for a couple nights, and although it did work for us for a week, we probably would have preferred somewhere a bit more comfortable or with a few more amenities for a whole week. But the price is right so that was good.

Pleasantly surprised

We were pleasantly surprised! It’s an older motel that’s been renovated nicely, with small but functional spaces, and a well equipped kitchen. Bed was SUPER comfortable which was the most important thing for me, and the bedding was soft unlike in a lot of hotels where everything feels crispy. The owner was really friendly too. Will definitely choose this place again next time we are in Golden!

I had given a high review about the services of this property. What is funny is that there was no one attending us. The front desk was so tiny that I even had difficulty in turning around. The check-in was done over the phone and I did not see any house keeping ever since our stay. However, I have to admit that this kind of no-people-showed-up is effective. For those who would like to interface with hotel people will certainly be disappointed. Overall feeling of the stay is quite pleasant.

We were travelling during the coldest spell in this part of the British Columbia. What my friend liked the most was how quickly rooms were heated up. Then we hade lower pleasant temperature all night. I liked beds. Accomofation was very good and easy to unload/load our bags.

Our stay at Pinewood Inn in Golden was great!

The Pinewood Inn was a comfortable place for our family of four to stay during our ski trip. Check in was simple, the place was clean and very well thought out including lots of storage and hooks for drying ski clothes. Kitchen included a large fridge, stovetop, micro and toaster oven plus dishes and pots. Separate bedroom for the kids was great. Centrally located - close to downtown Golden and a short drive up the hill to Kickinghorse.

Clean and super cozy!!

Loved this place!! I was worried about booking in this town based on the poor reviews at some of the other places we considered. Took a chance on this one since the reviews seemed way better than anything else we looked at and we were not disappointed with our pick. Bed was super cozy, room was spotlessly clean and water in the shower was hot and the shower pressure was amazing! Love the kitchenette aspect too- we made our own dinner and breakfast here, there was great cookware and dishes available to use as well. It was perfect for us, but might be a bit small for a family. Heaters kept it nice and toasty all night long.

This place is outstanding!!! I will stay here every time we visit family in Golden. A great place for skiing families or 2 couples wanting privacy as well. These people have thought of everything one might need for a very comfortable skiing stay, with indoor ski racks, a well organized kitchenette, comfy beds and bedding- they even have rags to wipe your skiiis. Very clean space, lovely staff.

Excellent cabin style accommodation

The place looks like a motel from the outside, but the inside is like a cabin. Everything you need is here, it is warm, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Most units have a living area with kitchen, separate bedroom and bathroom. Be aware, and don't make the mistake I made. The website I booked through put me into the only cabin where the living room had a bed in it. I wasn,t alert enough to spot it, sadly. My fault. I would stay here again without thinking, which says it all really. Recommended

Nice clean place to explore from. Well presented apartment for couple. More than two might be cramped. Nice extras like oil, salt pepper etc. That we had lacked in many other places. Comfortable bed.

This property allowed us to get food from the grocery store and cook our own food - this is SUCH a treat when being on the road without your own facilities. Fast food gets gross fast! The BBQ was a great touch. The beds were ultimate comfort after our long hikes and the shower pressure rocked our worlds. Would definitely stay again.

This motel is owned / operated by a private owner who has done a really good job to keep the room clean. Everything functions well. Check in/out was extremely fast. It's close to the highway 1 but it is very quiet in the evening. It's about 3 minutes drive from Golden downtown, no much to see/walk around near the motel though.

Where are the people responsible for this disaster

I was not able to talk to anyone regarding our difficulty with booking. I would stay as far away as possible from this place. It wreaks of immorality and scam.

Hidden Gem

Between the TCH and the CPR but set back from both and with excellent sound insulation so neither audible. A tastefully-renovated little motel, well equipped kitchen, pleasant bathroom (with a BATH), unobtrusive daily service. Very easy access to Kicking Horse. I stayed for a week and thought it was both very good, and good value.
