The rooms were built in 1936, feel small when filled with a king size bed but that’s to be expected. It’s a fun place to stay, great fireplace with seats to enjoy getting to know other travelers, lots of ambiance! Great gift shop and on site restaurant!!! We will definitely stay there again!!

Really cool nostalgic hotel, rooms and property clean and well kept. Nice gift shop, staff very helpful. Enjoyed the stay entirely, amazed to have to operate the elevator doors manually. A real walk back in time.

What a unique and wonderful hotel stay. We had great interactions with staff including with hotel historian Leroy. The room was great, we stayed in the Virginia Mayo room. Great amount of history in this hotel. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

The historic hotel was amazing, the restaurant was really good, and all the staff were so helpful including security staff. If there was a downside it was the size of the room as we were traveling with a rowdy puppy. Otherwise would 100% stay again. The secret room is also amazing as is the gift shop.

Be prepared... the rooms are on the small side. BUT the staff were accommodating (ask about the secret room) and the breakfast was great. And the pet policy was flexible. So consider this property for a Gallup stay!

Incredible old hotel refitted to its 1940s glory days. Rooms were great, hang in the lobby, like no other. In house restaurant and bar are totally worth eating and drinking at. Pictures on the wall, signed, by every movie star of the ear you can thin of. Will so go back, in fact making up itineraries where we could use Gallup as a base giving us an excuse to stay at the El Rancho. Recommend
