Beautiful location

I loved this hotel. The room was big enough for a family of four and the breakfast was great. I think i would have been more comfortable if i had stayed in the winter. I'm hot natured, so i slept with the window open. That felt great, but it is a busy highway and the cars were loud.

Beautiful location, within about 15 min of car time from the center of Villach or the Gerlitzen ski slopes (at the Ossiacher see), less than 1,5km from the Faaker see. The building, rooms and facilities themselves could do with some maintenance, but the owners are working on that. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and we had a very pleasant winter stay!

Easy to reach, spacious. We arrived around 10pm, after the reception time, but they left the door open and our keys and registration clearly on the desk. The host family was very friendly, the room and common areas clean. It was sadly just a roadtrip rest stop for us, wish we could have stayed longer.

Great price for overall good stay

We stayed for 1 night travelling from Salzburg to Venice. A clean and friendly family feel to this place in a spectacular location with supermarket couple of mins drive away. Staff were welcoming and helpful and supplied a good breakfast. Our room was fairly basic but gave what was required but we did have to report a running toilet and the room got very hot due to heatwave and lack of any air con. Balcony was an added bonus.

Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel with beautiful surroundings. The family running the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights, the room was cosy, well decorated and very clean. The breakfast was also very good. Only minor improvements I would recommend would be providing a fan for the room (it was a hot few days in Austria, and the room was quite warm at night). Additionally, a mirror in the bedroom close to a plug for using the hair dryer would be useful (there was a mirror in the bathroom, but no plug nearby). We'll definitely stay here again in the future.

I was quite surprised by the experience, especially after paying 94 euros for a room that fell short of expectations. The room was cold, and the heating system was not working, despite my attempts to switch it on. Given the location of the hotel, it’s not reasonable to have no heating during colder nights. Additionally, the toilet had an unpleasant smell, which made the stay uncomfortable. I was also disappointed to find that there was no way to make tea or coffee in the room. While there were options available at breakfast, they were not accessible throughout the day. On the positive side, the breakfast was okay, the view from the hotel was stunning, and the owner was kind and welcoming. However, unless some improvements are made—it’s difficult to fully enjoy the stay or recommend it to others.

Great stay

I wasn't sure about the properties of choice until I saw the hotel building. I knew right away it was going to be great. I love such objects, I like the people behind them. We are delighted and we are already figuring out how to visit Bergbude again. Super clean, comfortable sleeping, great atmosphere and excellent breakfast. The head of the facility is a nice, charismatic man.

La camera era molto trascurata a partire dalla porta , al lampadario penzolante, senza una seggiola per appoggiare le cose o un piccolo armadio, al letto tenuto su da alcuni pezzi di legno, al sistema elettrico fatiscente, agli asciugamani ridotti all'osso e super usurati, all'acqua della doccia che per diventare calda ci volevano 10 minuti e odore sgradevole un po' dappertutto.Siamo stati in quattro in una camera molto piccola. Insomma da fare un po' di manutenzione. Unica nota positiva ma non troppo vista la poca scelta: la colazione. Personale non visto al check in ma chiavi lasciate a disposizione all' ingresso e all' uscita nessuno a salutarci.
