"Hotel Metropol was perfect for our quick stay in Basel. It is located steps from the train station. The staff is helpful. When we arrived before check in to ask if we could store our luggage while sightseeing, they said our rooms were ready and allowed us to check in early. How nice! We were able to walk all over the city from our hotel. We enjoyed our one-night stay here. We were not able to have breakfast at the hotel as we had an early departure the next morning. "The hotel was clean, spacious and comfortable. I would have preferred the bed to have had a thinner duvet as the room was hot and it was too noisy too sleep with the window open. There were tea making facilities in the room and the receptionists were happy to supply extra tea bags when asked. The hotel is 2 minutes away from bus stops to and from the main station, and near a major landmark so it's easy to find. It's also within walking distance of the shopping centre and tourist spots.
