"Beautiful gardens surround what clearly was a stunning manor house in its day. Met at reception by a cheerful helpful lass who soon had us booked in. Room was very dated and tired and desperately needed a full refresh. A questionable mark on the bed valance caused concern. The bath plug spun wildly and wouldn't seal meaning a bath was out the question. Saying that there was no shortage of hot water for a shower. We slept well enough and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was nothing short of a comedy sketch, the only people missing were Manuel and Polly. Cooked breakfast eventually arrived and was edible, other than the fried egg which was like a frisbee. Enjoyed our swim the following morning. Pool was clean and warm but I couldn’t find an unoccupied locker that would actually lock. These things generally come down to value for money versus expectations. We have stayed at some outstanding hotels all over the UK but they cost a small fortune. We paid brass buttons for our one night stay and as an overall experience it was enjoyable and actually quite funny at times. Staff were friendly and chatty which in our book goes a long way in making up for some of Faulty Towers moments. If you can get a storming good deal and you are of a relaxed and easy going disposition like us there's no reason not to book. If you are looking for a flawless experience and paying full price I'd look elsewhere. "

"The staff at Stirling was amazing. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and kind. I want to give shoutouts to Ana, Cara, Amalee, and Declan in the restaurant.Their personal touches made our dinners memorable. Cameron, Bryony, and Joseph (aka a young Gerard Butler) were welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. The atmosphere of the hotel matched the surrounding neighborhood. It is just a short drive to the castle and a short walk to city shops. We loved Stirling!"

"Plenty of shops nearby,nice bar area and restaurant. Our room was lovely and clean.would definitely book again. My one suggestion would be have two chairs in room, sitting on bed not convenient."

"Each room is individually appointed giving them unique feels like one would find as a guest in a home. En suite bathrooms were updated and very clean. It was a thrill to stay in an historic home I just wish there had been more information available about its history. "

"Great staff Very warm welcome and attentive throughout the stay. Breakfast had a huge variety, always hot and never run out of anything. Very comfortable bed. Could do with a choice of pillows in there room. The sister pillows were also very soft. Yes some of the interior parts of the rooms could do with some TLC, but doesn't take away from a fantastic hotel, spa, golf course and restaurant. They had a large 21st party one night, but that didn't affect us, and could not be heard on the rooms. Little touches were brilliant, we stayed with a dog and they had door signs for the staff whether they could come in or not whilst the dog was in there. Also welcome flavoured water and Scottish Tablet Cannot wait to come back!"

"Ideally situated for travel to local villages and Glasgow. Definitely a celebration venue, 70th birthday, funeral wake, 90th birthday and wedding over the weekend that we stayed. Only noise was from children running around after midnight, otherwise we weren’t disturbed. Bed was very very soft, felt like sleeping in a water bed. Apart from that, would recommend."
