"Very clean and comfortable hotel room with a lovely bathroom. Maid and towel service were impeccable Breakfast was beautifully served. The staff were extraordinary. Our breakfast server provided some of the best suggestions for things to see and do in the area. The desk clerk made us dinner reservations the night we arrived. The bar and restaurant in the hotel are wonderful. The food was top notch and delicious. While it was too cold for us to use the pool, . the outside areas of the property are beautiful and very well maintained. There is ample, free parking. The hotel's proximity to everything in this small town made it ideal for walking. We enjoyed it so much that we plan to return in summer. "

"Great location for people who are interested in history. There are lots of sites to visit within 40-50 minutes drive. The weather was mixed but we still managed to swim in the pool every day even though it was unheated. Good range of walks as well. "

"We had a fabulous 2 week stay at La Maison du Bonheur. We couldn't fault the beautiful property and surroundings. The pool was perfect for the hot weather we experienced. Cathy and her family were great, generous hosts. Getting a tour of their bee hives was a particular highlight! Overall, would highly recommend"

"The Manoir d’Isly was delightful. It has spacious rooms with high ceilings, 4 en-suites and 2 family shower rooms, lovely places for dining inside and out and a well-equipped kitchen. The pool, 2 table tennis tables, trampoline and baby-foot were great for the kids (aged 9-14).The attic bedroom with 4 beds is rather hot in the height of summer - luckily we didn’t need to use it. Fans are provided which is great.Excideuil has plenty of local activities including canoeing, tennis, running, markets, velorail, activity lake (de rouffiac) high ropes water-skiing etc. L’Anagramme is an excellent restaurant in town. If you want to drive an hour and a quarter, there’s even more to do around the Dordogne river itself.Thank you Mathilde for looking after us."
