The Stanley’s such a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and so beautiful. The Hedge maze is fun and there are so many other properties to enjoy on site. The tours are great also.

First, the staff are absolutely top notch. They are professional, friendly and helpful. These are 5 star people.
We stayed in the hotel, rather than the lodge, if we stay again we would try the lodge.
It was a mixed bag, I found the halls, rooms, halls and public places in the hotel shabby, over worn and not well maintained. We hung out in one of the bars and it was great. Normally I would expect the view from the outside spaces to be great.
Tour guide for all three of our tours, Ashley, was amazing! The car lot attendant was informative and kind. She made us feel welcomed.
The lady at the check in desk was outstanding and knowledgeable. The tours were great.
The steam room was inop.
The gym should have been more accessible. We cannot wait until 8am to exercise all the time with our busy itineraries.
Beautiful overall.
We loved our stay and the charm of the hotel! We did multiple tours and Ian was wonderful as a tour guide!! Highly recommend!!

Clean hotel but there’s no parking for the overnight guests. The parking is mostly taken up by the people paying for the hotel tours….so that’s a nightmare. Also hotel

Friendly staff, clean room, gorgeous area. Loved the ghost tour we went on and Estes Park is beautiful and there is just such an interesting history.
The property and surrounding area was beyond beautiful and relaxing. It was everything I was looking for in a stay, and the staff was beyond accommodating and kind. I can’t recommend staying here enough.

Disliked: Staff & service
We had stayed at the Stanley Hotel about 15 years ago, and while it was an older property, it was charming. The staff and its customer service played a large part in this charm. In the past year, the Stanley has changed hands, and it has lost its charm. The new owners have embraced "spectacle," which certainly will draw some customers. But the customer service we received was less-than-stellar. Additionally, while the hotel is undergoing renovations, the parking and other logistics are inconvenient at best, even dangerous. I "fixed" parking "ramps" so that other guests would not experience the trouble I had seen others enduring to get in and out of overflow parking. The air conditioning/heating unit in the room was incredibly loud. We had much better customer service in much less expensive hotels on our trip. The value we received during our stay was quite poor - and not worth it.
This one is a definite stay for the history. Good staff, good food, great scenery. A couple of things to note:
1. There is construction going on (back and front of property). I'm sure it'll be amazing when it's all done, but, it looks like it could be months out.
2. Some rooms are small with a queen bed. Not a deal breaker. Pretty comfortable bed.
Overall, a must stay!
I didn’t realize I wasn’t booked into the main hotel. Maybe that was my fault and I somehow missed that, but it was disappointing. I ended up at a newly built portion, the Apsire. It is down the hill from the main hotel, so I had to walk up and back for dinner & for a tour. That maybe wouldn’t have been so bad but there is a TON of construction going on, so the ambiance of the grounds is not really happening right now. Plus as a solo female traveler I didn’t like wandering back and forth by myself. As for the Aspire itself, the room was really cramped. There was a bed with 2 end tables, an armoire & a desk under the TV. But there was no chair - or room for one. So I sat on the edge of the bedframe and balanced my feet against the desk to watch TV. No fridge- had to keep going to get ice for drinks. But the worst was the smell. There was some weird chemical smell that was so bad I had to sleep with the bathroom fan on. I will say the bathroom was nice with a soaker tub. But overall I was very disappointed in my stay. Would not recommend staying at the Aspire. And be sure you check if you are booking the Stanley that you don’t end up there.
I have to admit I was a little disappointed that we were not staying in the historic part of the Stanley. Rather, we were in the Aspire, which is fairly new. That said, it’s lovely. We stayed in a room that was very small and did not have a closet. Rather, it had a short armoire that was not tall enough to accommodate a dress or even a suit jacket. We ended up storing our luggage in the stand alone bathtub. The bathroom was huge compared to the bedroom. The staff could not have been nicer.
This is a historical beautiful property and if you in the area I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. However the mattress is too soft and not very comfortable and there is no central AC so rooms do get hot even in winter and the only way to keep cool is opening the window which is fine but that makes the main door flap making a noice like someone is banging on the door. Otherwise the property is amazing with multiple bars/restaurants and all sort of activities to do.

We well respect that The Stanley is an historic landmark in a stunning location; spectacular views. It has beautiful gardens, a maze and guided tours. It clearly falls into the category of historic hotels. The hotel participates in the several Estes Park shuttles to downtown and trailheads. Very convenient)
My issues are the extensive construction taking place that was noisy, dirty and which compromised beautiful views. (Not on the weekend) We changed our room since we did not want to
look out at a construction site. (The staff was very accommodating.)
The new room had a very comfortable bed and lots of hot water. Furniture was vintage (as expected)and lighting was rather dim.
Parking for hotel guests was very difficult due to the many visitors taking tours of the hotel. The elevator did not work in the Lodge (where we stayed).
The housekeeping staff comes every three days yet did not empty the trash nor replenish the coffee Nespressos. The food at The Cascades was disappointing.
I am mentioning these issues to inform future guests so that they can come prepared.
I have been to The Stanley Hotel before and it’s always been a beautiful stay. This was just as nice with the exception of all the construction happening. The elevator in the Lodge was out and the A/C was out as well. We did have a stand alone unit which was just ok.
We went to the Post for dinner, was told they were fully committed for the evening. No other options offered, very curt and rude female hostess. The parking was a mess with all the construction and people!
We did a ghost tour which was great! The guide was fun and engaging.
The property is currently under construction. No working elevators. A little underwhelming for the price is the stay. However, the tours are worth checking out even if you don't stay there!
The hotel was beautiful and historic. However, nobody told us that there was no central air conditioning nor that there was construction going on at the hotel when I booked our room. The television turned on and sound came out but the picture didn't come on. We were woke up before 8 am by a jackhammer that was consistent until we checked out at 11 am. I would never have booked this hotel, nor paid that much. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel and our trip to Estes Park.

Under construction. Dust all over, parking challenging. I would not stay on the property.
Ghost tour was a joke!
We didn’t get to stay in the Stanley proper but stayed at Aspire which ended up being ok because that’s where the pool and hot tub were located and my kids loved that. Rooms were very clean and amenities were satisfactory. Didn’t catch any ghost sightings but I imagine everyone walking up and down the hall right near your room if you’re staying right in the hotel would be annoying after a while or even just screw up if you thought you heard a real ghost or just people looking around. Anyways very cool property with such rich history and cool vibe. The bars looked very fun and the food looked good. Will try to eat and stay right in the Stanley next time though. Just be sure to ask that before booking.
