Great stay

This property is amazing ! It looks historic but has all the modern convenience. We felt well taken care of by the staff. The location is close to old town, so no car needed, if one wants to go eat a meal. The two pools are great.

The hotel is located in a beautiful historical building. It has both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool. The rooms are also very comfortable. The only drawback is that our room was situated near a noisy street, especially at night.

A special hotel in an ancient building gives a good feeling. Breakfast is okay. Coffee needs to be improved. The snack bar is excellent. The design is amazing. The patio is special. The environment is pleasant to walk around in. The receptionist is kind.

Historic experience

The room was large,light,and comfortable...... the bar welcoming and reasonable and the spa was very good. the staff were friendly and pleasant. A typical Vila Gale experience but in a beautiful historic building very nicely located.

First I must say the hotel staff was AMAZING. After check in, they took the time to show us around the hotel and literally took as all the way to our room. What can I say, this is by far one of the best places I’ve stayed in my life. It’s a building that has been through many lives, first it was a convent, then it was used as military quarters and finally it has been converted into a magnificent hotel.

Fabulous location in the cute walled city. The room is well appointed. Fabulous pool, gym and saunas which was a treat to use. The breakfast was plentiful. The carpets are filthy throughout the property. They are stained and kind of gross. I had to wear slippers in the room. The bed wasn’t horrible but not particularly comfortable. This is the nicest hotel in the area. An overall enjoyable stay.

Excellent choix

Simplement parfait pour un stop-over dans la ville de Elvas (à l’intérieur des murs de la fortification). L’hôtel a repris les anciens bâtiments des écuries de la cavalerie et il est tout proche de pleins de points de vue. L’hôtel est adapté aux enfants et il a même une petite piscine pour enfants avec toboggan (à l’écart de la piscine pour adultes.
