We had reserved for one night at Larà’s but we ended up staying 3 Natasha is a Lovely host and her right hand Rachel is also a very help full person The breakfast was great, the room spacious and the bathroom well supplies. Hot water with no interruption. We had a great balcony overlooking the river. All in all a great expérience. You can go there without worries.

It was a nice place within easy walking distance of the boat dock. My room was big and clean. Despite what is said on the Wxpedia booking website; Unilingual staff. No hammock on deck. Cash only and no ATM in town. No gym.

Great place to stay

Our stay at Lara's planet was better than we expected. Natasha is a excellent host and very very helpful with all kinds of transport etc. Great place. Great view of the river and would definately stay there again. Thanks Natasha for your excellency in customer care. It really is what it is all about.

Hammock on your own terrace above the river

We (mother 60, son 23) came to El Castillo to experience Rio San Juan. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the "harbor" but hidden in a garden. Wonderful sight to the river both from the room and the restaurant.Large room with terrace, all furniture and details made of bamboo. Food not excellent, good drinks. The town consists of two streets. Have dollars for excursions - no ATM!

Lovely private terrace over Rio San Juan

A special stay in a nice spacious corner room overlooking the river. Great balcony, nice breakfast, good service. A bit overpriced for the area but would recommend Lara's Planet as it is way above the other options in El Castillo

Wonderful

Although our original night's stay was cancelled due to bad weather we did pitch up and spend a night later and were so glad that we did. Natasha, the owner, is charming, entertaining and an excellent cook. The hotel itself is small but fabulous; it deserves an award for its natural wood and bamboo design. The front is built out over the river to give wonderful views in all directions. Each upstairs room is large, comfortable and elegant. Rooms have their own outside lounging area. El Castillo is well worth a short visit. We had a great trip there and back by public boat, enjoyed the town and its fort and took a guided tour to the Bartola reserve, which Natasha can arrange for you from her own little private boat dock.

Perfecte plek!

Mooi stijlvol hotel van hout en bamboe. Mooi gelegen aan het water en heeft mooie tuin met veel vogels. Eigenaresse is erg behulpzaam om reis heen en weer te regelen. Tours kunnen via het hotel worden geregeld. Kortom een perfecte plek.

Lovely large room, comfortable beds, brilliant balcony, excellent bathroom with large shower. Great views of river and castle. Natasha is a friendly, helpful host with great English (and some German I believe but haven't tested).
