Room was clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly. Our family enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the restaurant next door. Location was perfect, with a beautiful view from the front of the hotel of Edinburgh Castle
Great value for a family on a budget.
Fantastic location and accessible to many tourist spots. Some rooms have view of castle, ours did not have this time.

Hotel is perfectly located on Princes Street with plenty to see and do within walking distance. The front staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast which I purchased a couple of mornings was great value with 2 kids. The room itself was disappointing- while the bed was very comfortable, the room was very basic and grubby.

Great location, cleanliness could’ve been better.
Location was great - 12 min walk from Waverley train station, directly on a large shopping street with all the buses and trams, a 15 min walk to the Royal Mile. Lots of cafes and fast food options right next to the hotel. Check in and check out very easy and quick, staff was very welcoming. Room was spacious. I question the use of carpeting for flooring as it’s fairly rainy in Edinburgh so it obviously gets damp and musty when you come in the room with your wet shoes and coats. It would also have been nice to have somewhere to put your suitcase rather than on the floor.

Rooms were on the small side and had no amenities other than an electric kettle which I thought was odd for the price. However it seems this is typical for the area and this would be an average sized room. The morning staff was very helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our early check in happen and I am forever grateful to them and applaud their level of customer care!
However during the evening shift at the last day of the stay, a particular staff member seemed to care less to help arrange a taxi for my family to the airport which I ended up just doing myself. I never had a staff member at any hotel not jump at to assist in arranging taxis so this definitely left a bad impression with me that some may call petty but with the amount of travel I do, I can afford to demand some level of customer service. However one bad experience should not overshadow the good service which I received otherwise through the stay.
Breakfast in the neighboring restaurant was actually very good and reasonably priced for the area. Speaking of the area, it’s location was perfect. Easy to walk just about anywhere or hop on a bus or tram and get there with ease. If you come during Christmas time, you will be in the perfect place for accessing the Christmas markets since they will be directly across the street from the hotel.

Everything is extra cost, there are no slippers in the room and they are saying “you can buy it from us and we will donate that money”??? I am asking for sheets cleaning and they are saying that after 6 days they can do it ??? interesting hotel
The location is perfect! The hotel is in the center of all the attractions, and even walkable from the train. However, cleanliness needs to improve. We received dirty towels several times. The room should have been dusted, too.
The staff at the front desk need some customer service skills and seem to hate thier job. This firm 3 pm check in makes everyone wait in the lobby until the exact minute to book in. Crazy way to do things.
