"We loved this hotel!!! My mother and I took a long overdue vacation to Scotland and this hotel came up as being close to Edinburgh. It is on a bus line (the X7) to downtown Edinburgh and the stop is literally across the street from the hotel! Convenient if you have luggage. The bus ride is about 40 minutes to Edinburgh so easy if you want to head there. I’d recommend exploring the East Linton area though. It’s a beautiful area with walking paths and restaurants. "I had a very nice stay at the Open Arms Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and made me feel at home. The room was first class with a view over the village green and very comfortable. The lounge area with the open fire is lovely and relaxing being able to have a pre- dinner drink and review the menu. It was a very enjoyable stay and will definitely be returning again in the very near future."

"The hotel is in a lovely building, but the decor in our room was odd and dated - it needed a bit of tlc and updating in our opinion. Lovely views of the city and beyond. We wish the blinds/curtains had been black out, as it got quite light in the morning. The big light in our room flickered a lot, so we couldn’t use it. Free parking was great. The room was cleaned each day and had basic amenities - kettle with tea and coffee, ironing board and a safe in the wardrobe."
