Salt Box: an Enchanting Historical Property with a Pool

We are pleased to offer you a truly whimsical treasure. Salt Box is an enchanting and quaint village home that has been tastefully renovated but still maintains its old style charm. There is a romantic covered outdoor living area that flows to a large walled backyard for privacy as well as garden entertaining. The main cottage has 3 air conditioned bedrooms, 2 on the main floor and an ensuite master bedroom suite upstairs. The cottage has 2 air conditioned bedrooms with a shared bathroom and outdoor shower. A large salt water swimming pool ties the two cottages together. The old style kitchen is equipped with fridge, stove, cooking utensils with a historic fireplace backdrop original from circa 1820. There are various lounging spaces which including the cozy indoor living room and the calm outdoor living room perfect for reading or having small dinner parties. The guest cottage has a small outdoor living room and outdoor eating area to have all your meals under cover overlooking the pool. There is a small BBQ made from repurposed stones from the vintage home where you can cook and sit under the trees.

Great Property

This is a great place to stay if you have a big party, the rooms are spaced out nicely. While the indoor living space is small, the outdoor living area and pool area make up for it! We had the best time and plan to visit again soon.

Girls’ Trip

This place is heaven! It’s exactly as pictured and better. It was was cozy but had plenty of space for our group of 7 - the outdoor seating areas are all beautiful! And the pool! So warm and relaxing. The host was also very responsive - when a circuit tripped, they were there within 10 minutes. I can’t recommend this property highly enough.

It was lovely… although house keeping really wasn’t there to make beds and or wash and or replace any towels. We went to the beach almost everyday and we had dirty towels and would have loved them to have been washed at least once during our stay. We really had zero communication with the house keeper.

The Salt Box is an incredibly beautiful property. Unassuming from the entrance, you step into an oasis with tons of charm to boot. We had 4 infant / toddlers that were very comfortable as well.

Amazing Stay

This is the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. The house is beautifully decorated and the landscaping is gorgeous. It had everything we could need and more. The location is right in the middle of everything and the host and staff were incredibly helpful and kind. We highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Harbour Island Trip Jan 2025

We truly enjoyed our stay at Salt Box. It’s a very charming Bahamian style property and very well kept. Once we walked through the house, we were amazed by the size of backyard/pool area and pool house which has 2 very nice bedrooms and a large bath. We ate most meals out but did have an incredible evening of grilled lobsters over the open fire on the parrilla. Great place for a family vacation.

A true Briland Experience

Our stay at Salt Box was an incredible experience. This is already our favorite island in the Bahamas and we now may have a favorite property! The whole property is very friendly for a large or small group!

Perfect hideaway in town

The Saltbox is a stunning and secluded property in town. It’s an easy walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. The home is beautifully decorated with old island charm and modern conveniences. It’s incredibly comfortable for large groups or families.

Perfect house for families with kids!

We absolutely loved our stay at Salt Box! It was in the middle of town, yet it felt very private secluded in the backyard! The kids loved the nice sized pool, and getting to the beach was a breeze! Sofia was an excellent host! Highly recommend!

Home Away From Home

Salt Box is everything and more! Cozy, spacious and every bit of homey. Its a perfect compliment to/extension of the interior design draw of Harbour Island. Its so lovely you find yourself wanting to be there as much as you want to be exploring the island. The owner, house manager, & gardener were all wonderful and so helpful! Highly recommend and can't wait to return and stay here again!

Charming Oasis

Such a charming property and the backyard looks like it is out of a magazine. We had the most magical stay at the Salt Box. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the cottage is just adorable! One couple had the cottage all to themselves and they were over the moon with their quarters. The host is very responsive and kind and the housekeeper is also amazing. We would definitely come back to the Salt Box!

Salt Box Heaven

We adored out time here, and cannot wait to return! Sofia is the loveliest host. We absolutely adored the outdoor spaces, from swimming in the heated pool, to taking refuge from the rain under the lounge tent structure in the backyard. Every detail in the house is perfection.
