I stay here a lot, very central for restaurants public transport.
I like having no contact with staff as your sent room no and key us waiting for you when you go in to room,I love the size of their towels,no complimentary shampoo etc, room on the cold side for summer,I’m happy to recommend and il stay again
Great location in Dunblane near to rail station. Street parking right outside hotel door. Really easy check in and departure. Large comfortable room, clean and well maintained. Excellent value.
Amazing place to stay, straight across from Cathedral, handy for all restaurants and places of interest,I come to dunblane often and always stay here,I was upgraded to king room so very comfortable and a very quiet area to stay, highly recommended

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Contactless check-in/check-out. No staff to interact with. Basic but comfortable room. Restaurant closed during our one night stay.
No service or assistance. Shower drain blocked, bathroom floor uneven and slippery when wet.
Bed comfortably room adequate
Not told room was up marrow stairs, not suitable bc for the elderly.
This was good for us as a base and a comfortable and clean place to stay. The room was that just a room with a bathroom. Had twin beds rather than a double but didnt matter, beds were comfy enough but no space to move and no chest of drawers or wardrobe. This place was cheapest we could find for a gig nearby and seemed there was a few others staying doing the same. Shower was fab but some mould in shower and roof. Free parking nearby and outside( it was full when we arrived) and a few pubs/cafes within 5 mins. Train station 5 minute walk so ideal for getting about. Beech tree cafe was great for food and breakfast next day. Its not luxury but not basic(premier inn) so i would stay for a pitstop but not for romantic break or longer break.
Not sure where to start really. I'm sure many other reviewers have mentioned the lack of staff. The whole place clearly is a ghost of something far grander that used to exist. According to some locals we spoke to, in it's heyday Old Churches was a great hotel, had a lovely restaurant and was one of the town's cornerstones. This might be why is still enjoys a high rating on many sites.
But for whatever reason (COVID maybe), the place has become a shell of whatever former self it enjoyed. It is all self check-in/out, there's no front desk. Which certainly wasn't the worst aspect of our stay, but added to the place's eary feel. The fact there are still so many signs for things that no longer exist (restaurant, reception, even a gym!) made the place seem like some old abandoned building.
However, as I said, this wasn't the worst part. The hotel is very very dated. The room we had was one of the most tired and grotty I've stayed in, if not the worst. And it was quite dirty. A quick look under the bed, or behind a piece of furniture showed the room desperately needed a deep clean. And don't get me started on how uncomfortable the bed was.
Overally the only enjoyable aspect of the hotel was the location. It is right in the centre of town and has a lovely view of the cathedral across the road.
