Definitely not 5 stars. Rooms & hallways are riddled with mould. Non smoking rooms are nonexistent - every inch of the rooms stink of mould and stale smoke. Most of the resort has been closed for over 4 years. There is only one restaurant not 3 no casino no nightclub basically a beach and 200 empty rooms all of which are falling apart and a health hazard.

The location was secluded and felt like a real getaway which was quite different from the hotels I’ve come before.There were many swimming pools and The largest one was so perfect with breathtaking view. After swimming, I enjoyed a cup of coffee beside the swimming pool. The taste of coffee was so addicted and unforgettable. The staff were very helpful, polite and super friendly. Breakfast buffet were delicious with a range of cuisines. My wife and our children really loved them.

Paradise with plenty of room for everyone

10 relaxing days at a fabulous beachside resort. Big room with a comfortable bed, with a thick mattress topper. The beach was spotless, no seaweed, no rocks and generally calm. Somedays it had the ‘Ghost town effect’ but we enjoyed very few guests, no screaming kids and 3 pools and a beach to ourselves. The weekends tend to be busy with domestic tourists and the odd bus tour stops in for a night though the week days. Dong Hoi city is only 2 kms away or 34,000 Dong taxi ride. Great staff and management made this an exceptional stay. Wifi worked every where even on the beach.

Dyreste hotel vi boede på i Vietnam, der var mange ansatte til at holde området pænt, velholdt og rent. Det undrede os bare at de ansatte ikke var bedre til engelsk. Vores låsesystem til værelset blev ved med at gå i stykker, og personalet kunne simpelthen ikke forstå at vi ikke synes det var i orden at komme retur til et ulåst værelse, ganske enkelt fordi de ikke forstod engelsk. De reperarerede døren 3 gange, og først da vi klagede til Hotels.com fik de lavet den så det ikke skete igen. Så et dejligt sted og dejligt område, blev bare ødelagt af at vi ikke kunne forlade værelset uden at være sikker på om alle mulige kunne gå ind på vores værelse.

Spa Stay

Overall the place was really good. It's beach front, but was raining while I was there, so was only on beach briefly. I didn't swim in the ocean. The resort has several really nice, picturesque pools. Restaurants are great, rooms are clean. They provide nice robes. The only dissatisfaction was the spa. I mostly booked this hotel for the flower bath picture they have in their overview. I requested this but they did not have it. I asked for a milk bath instead and the "milk" was put into the jacuzzi for both my friend and I, not a special bath for me. (I was already paying separate for jacuzzi,steam room and sauna.) The staff at the spa were really nice though and it truly is a beautiful setting! Minus this one detail, it was a great stay!

i spent very happy time with my family. but i hope it needs more comfortable restaurants with air conditioner and nice and quick service. my important guest was back home before the ordered food coming out. i was really satisfied in total. it was very fantastic surroundings with great nature.

숙소는 깨끗하고, 직원들은 친절합니다. 직원들의 영어 의사소통이 조금 아쉽지만, 관리자급은 문제없이 의사소통이 됩니다. 실외 수영장과 해변이 연결되어 있으여, 리조트에서 운영하는 제트스키도 좋았습니다. 아이들과 가족들 모두 매우 만족합니다. 다음에 또 동허이에 오게된다면, 다시 이용할 계획입니다. 리조트 주변에 상가나 식당은 없지만, 자전거나 택시를 이용하면 동허이 시내로 다녀오기에 멀지 않습니다.

Great location and you get what you pay for

Lovely spot to chill out. Staff were friendly and we had a big airy room with the mod cons. The resort has seen better days with the rooms being tired and the food is average. But the pluses are a beautiful location, great pool and nothing better than to sit on a swing overlooking the sea. The value for money makes it worth it

Too much ambition and to little execution

This hotel has seen its best days and the staff does not manage to live up to the ambitions of being a great beach resort. The setting by the beach is great but the pools are not clean. The menu is promising but the quality and taste of the food is not. The staff is nice but lacks the confidence and outgoing personalities needed to exceed its customers' expectations.

Derelict and decrepit......

We stayed here to go to Phong Nha Caves foolishly thinking it would be a great beach resort... The pictures are all photoshopped as there is a concrete wall all along the so called beach... In hindsight there are basic but fair hotels in Phong Nha area that would have offered at least a more authentic experience in this area.... There is a lot of development going on however in Dong Hoi and maybe in years to come it may improve as a place to visit

Awesome ocean front resort

Sun Spa was a great resort. We were lucky to spend our last night during our 10 day adventure through Vietnam here. The food was phenomenal both for a sit down dinner in the evening and breakfast buffet. In particular I would like to compliment the bar staff for being able to spin some of the best poolside cocktails we tasted during our trip. Lastly, the hour long thai massages also did us very well. Very positive experience all around. Would visit again.

Outdated hotel, overpriced and overrated. Polluted

Check-in painful, staff's command of English poor to non-existent, room booked (suite) incorrect. Really quiet with the exception of Vietnamese guests at the weekend, so throughout the week like a ghost hotel, rundown and poor facilities all the equipment in the gym was broken. Work going on, on the beach so noisy and disappointing. We had to move rooms because the air-conditioning unit broke down. This hotel is stuck in a time warp, dirty 1970's carpet in the best suites! it really does need a complete re-furbishment, staff training on customer service and a review of their star rating as this is completely over estimated. The restaurant had an extensive menu but was told that all fish and seafood was off the menu due to pollution in the immediate area! Advised not to swim in the sea for this reason too. Totally disappointing.
