"If you want to sleep in a room About the size of a garden shed, where there isn’t a wardrobe, drawers and couple hooks on wall to hang your clothes. If you want a double bed wedged against a wall, so you have to climb over the person sharing your bed. Who may not be a partner. Then this is the place for you."

"A hidden haven within a UNESCO busy tourist town. Escape the crowds by walking down a quiet street and into a tranquil and elegant hotel where the staff make a special effort for their guests. A daily pleasure to either soak in the hotel's hot spring pools or to complete the roman bath rituals and a guilty pleasure for this is a complimentary benefit to hotel guests (within the hours of 8-10 am and 7-9 pm). The beds are so-o comfortable that it is tempting to sleep in instead of going exploring....

"Staff was so nice and helpful. Room was in the basement. Window to pipes, wires and cement walls. Crooked floor and broken iron. Terrible value for the price. Shocked it was a Marriott proposal. Wouldn’t stay again"

"Very dog friendly stay, dog allowed everywhere. Excellent crockery pitch across the small bridge for dog exercise and poo bin by entrance to hotel. Breakfast was great, though no cereal which was odd. Rooms well equipped, kettle and nespresso coffee maker, plus both still and sparkling water with fresh milk in the pantry (where there are also top ups of tea, coffee and water plus ice). Second time here and we'll be back again"

"Unterkunft mit kostenpflichtigen Parkplatz etwas oberhalb von Bath. Service im Restaurant sehr aufmerksam, freundliche und hilfsbereite Rezeptionisten. Das Haus ist sehr verwinkelt und trotz Aufzug können auf dem Weg ins Zimmer Treppen kommen. Die Zimmer sind zweckdienlich."

"The hotel is really well positioned to explore Bath on foot. We stayed 3 nights. Our experience could have been better - overall it was ok. On arrival, we discovered a used towel from the previous guests hanging on the back of the door, and a half eaten apple was in the fridge. We asked reception to come and sort it out, but had to return to ask them to do something, before the desk clerk turned up and chucked replacement towels on the bed three hours later. It was ok, just not great. ...

"Worst experience ever! The day I left de hotel I forgot my jacket in the closet, I contact them 2 hours later I leave the place and they told me the cleaning lady wasn’t finished so I have to call again tomorrow so I did and well… they literally stole it!, 3 days waiting for a call from them that never happened, and when they finally answer the phone it was just to find out that the people working there stole a jacket, that’s a shame!,"

"The location to train station made us pick this hotel. The attentive and helpful staff were amazing, especially Gabriel. The room needed maintenance though, door to get into our room was hard to close and open. Curtains hanging down, pictures on wall without frames, tea pot and cups needed cleaning. Fan was not working but was replaced. I know the building is old but we stayed in three hotels/inns before arriving at this location and they were much more renovated and maintained."

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Francis Hotel. It was five years since we last stayed there and the difference made by their extensive renovations is amazing! Beautiful rooms, even the small ‘cosy’ rooms, with thoughtful and artistic decoration and amenities. We stayed in the really hot weather and the great AC was very welcome! It’s in a fantastic location and we will definitely return."

"The hotel is amazing and Its location has mountains of character The room was lovely and clean. The decoration was immaculate and thoughtful. The breakfast was wonderful with the options many and the quality very high the staff were friendly throughout and the parking excellent. The only thing that could be an issue might be air conditioning, but I’m saying that when writing this in the middle of a heat wave. The thick walls are a mitigation for this."
