"Kitchen was sparse. No coffee maker only espresso machine. We enjoyed our stay. Slept great. Papaya restaurant nearby was our favorite. Staff in Merlin restaurant below the hotel was always friendly and greeted us with a wave and smile but never came over to take our order so on three different occasions we got up and went somewhere else. Is there a cultural thing we’re missing here ?"

"I hate to give a bad review, but I have to. Our unit was sparsely outfitted. There were no furnishings for your cloths. Hangers on the walls for your clothes and used bath towels would be an improvement. The biggest problem was the bed! The sheet was dirty, the kind of dirt you do not want to see. Under the sheet was even worse. Bad. The housing approaching the lodge is challenged. Depressing in some instances. It smells on some days. Some days there is trash floating in the water. "My wife and I stayed for 9 nights last week and couldn't believe how quiet, peaceful and lovely the place is! The beach was beautiful and private. The whole place is private! You are literally on a remote island that is off the grid! The only place to connect with the outside world is in the main clubhouse where there is satellite internet, which we didn't mind at all bc we were definitely trying to unplug. There are some activities you can do such as your basic water sports or book...

"The pool is small, but great and refreshing. The staff are very nice from ground staff through to the owner. There is a space for a gym, but no actual gym, just some mats and a few light weights. The view from the gym is excellent though, monkeys and iguanas."

"Beware! This hotel is not in central Bocas Town, even though that is where the Expedia map and the "View in a map" function shows the hotel to be. The hotel is actually on Isla Pastores, which is at least a 30 min boat ride from Bocas Town. The hotel is not at all convenient for the main Bocas del Toro attractions, such as snorkeling, surfing, Starfish beach, Red Frog beach, Zapatilla Islands, etc. The hotel appears to be trying to lure customers into thinking that it is centrally located....
