When I arrived at my hotel for my reservation on October 11, 2016, there was a sign on the door that said "Closed Until Further Notice" so I really cannot rate a stay. I did not receive notice that the motel would be closed from the motel nor Expedia. My credit card was billed. Unless this issue is resolved, I will NOT book with Expedia again.
If you enjoy outlets stuck out from wall and plaster falling from ceiling. If you like your front door to not close unless you pull on door and the door to balcony to stick. If you enjoy watching TV on a box television and remote not working. If you aren't worried about baby roaches crawling all over the place because you know there is a momma somewhere, then this is your place. Very dirty and unsanitary, Staff didn't appear to want to be there. Decided to check out next morning and go somewhere else.

Good but could be better
The first room I went to was what causes me to give a lower score. The front desk staff was great and sent someone to check the room and to help me go to the new nicer room.
Now if I had been given that one in the first place the score would have been almost all fives.
The bed was great. The view alsome!
The pool needed to be cleaned.
I hope when they rebuild they add more outlets that was one things I could have used. Some wall scuffing that'd be an easy fix.
This is an old hotel that is rundown and dirty. Roaches everywhere in our room and other bugs. Wouldn't eat at the continental breakfast because we saw roaches there too. Wish we had read the reviews before booking. Never stay there again. Place needs to be torn down.
the view was nice. everyone was great. hotel was clean. Housekeeping were alert of customers needs and got everything that was needed to the customer asap

I had a terrible time the room keys didnt work and they kept moving us to diffrent rooms and i got feud up with and i asked for a refind and they didnt get it.
We booked a kitchen n there was nothing for it, no pots, pans, cups, plates, silverware. We had to have our Ac changed 3 times and there were roaches everywhere.. the only good thing is the location. Across the street is Publix and a buffet called Duff's that was awesome!
omg stay far far away from this place. This place should be condemned. We are shocked that the city hasn't closed there doors. Wow do your job Daytona. Before someone gets hurt there

Affordable and clean
We had a good staybnothing happened we enjoyed our time and have stayed here several times before now with that being said . The hotel is weather and needs some thing to be fixed and replaced . But we enjoyed our time
This hotel has greatly deteriorated. The staff was really nice but the rooms were awful. We had cockroaches in both the room and down where they serve breakfast. Not the giant Florida ones that creep in from outside but the little ones that INFEST. The room had water damage and peeling paint. The pool and hot tub were nice, and the access to the beach, but otherwise it was awful.
We checked in around 10pm, the lady at the counter was rather rude. Got to the room and found that we had to slam the door to get it to close. The phone didn't work. The toilet was backed up.
Roaches in our room. They were everywhere. They showed up early morning of second day. We had to check it out early because of it. We will never stay here again, and we used to stay here all the time.
Unbelievably filthy! Roaches roaches everywhere. Including the breakfast area where the quality a food was less than ideal almost like day-old bread that somebody gave them. There was rust on any metal surface in the bedroom and the handicapped accessible bathtub was extremely dangerous. The carpet in the room looked like it was shredded buy a dog or something with big teeth either way it was long overdue for being replaced. The room smelled like raw sewage mixed with vomit. No restaurant no food at the outside Tiki Bar. I would definitely not recommend anyone that I know to stay in this establishment.
The hotel was nasty roaches all over the place we went with family mambers . And they had the same issue so it wasn't just our room , the reception staff basically i asked a question and theydid no knoe anything
La Playa Resort charge you $78.00 as soon as you get there. They called "Resort Fee". Nobody told us about this "Resort Fee" right before we were there. We felt we have been cheated.
the room was fine but the electrical outlets in the kitchen didn't work so we couldn't use the microwave or coffee pot and the lamps besidethe beds would shock you so we had to not use tthose.
