Three nights at Dinaburg

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dinaburg. The beds were a bit hard, but we nevertheless we felt rested after a night's sleep. The rooms felt a bit outdated, but the price and location of the hotel (a bit outside the city centre, but the tram is just a short walk away) made up for this, and then some. We didn't have breakfast, but dinner at the restaurant was enjoyable.

Laipna apkalpošana. Zema cena. Bezmaksas rīta pelde baseinā un saunas. Liels spogulis (visam augumam). Numuriņš tīrs. Reception ir bezmaksas venden ūdens un patika ka ir iespēja iegādāties suvenīrus ar Daugavpils simboliku. Numuriņā nav nekādu papildus ērtību - nav bezmaksas ūdens, nav šampūniņu nav ne tējkannas ne leduskapis. Prasās pēc remonta.

Rommelig og store rom med gode parkering i gården

God service og forholdsvis god standard med fin parkering inngjerdet i bakgården , testet ikke Spa avdeling da denne var stengt når vi kom, frokosten var noe enkel og ikke noe avansert , vi vil gjerne tilbake her dersom vi reiser til Daugavpils igjen

Very ordinary, nothing unexpected

The check-in was very quick, I just had to fill in the standard form. The room was very simple, ordinary furniture, which smelled like new, but already had some blemishes. Everything looked clean, except that the there was a spider in the bathroom. There was a small TV with USB port, which wasn't at a very good angle with a bed - one must always keep the head slightly turned in order to watch it. The double bed was very good. The hair dryer was not working, but we asked at the reception and we got a working one. There was a yellow pages book in Latvian and Russian in the room, which also had some tourist attractions - we found it quite useful. The breakfast was the same as in other hotels, but it had two warm dishes (sausages and omelette). The hotel has parking spaces in front of it at the street, but the actual parking lot is in the inner yard. There is an elevator in the hotel, but still some of the rooms are accessible only by a small flight stairs. The lights in the corridors are automatic, but sometimes they turn on too late or turn off too early.

Lovely stay with family

It was lovely stay. Clean and quiet hotel. When was parties at the hotel they were finished by 10 or 12 in the evening. Reception was very professional, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was basic but freshly cooked with fantastic natural coffee. Really enjoyed our stay.

Чисто и персонал почти идеале, забыли по просьбе позвонить только. Завтрак скудный, СПА только с 9-30, шумоизоляция ужасная, сантехника дешевая и следовательно шумная. Душ и мыльница не удобный. Двуспальная кровать маленькая 140-160см.где-то. Точно не 3*.

Можно остановиться на одну ночь, не более. Чисто, просто. Выбрали его, так как в номере было три отдельных кровати. Обычно для троих предлагается двухместный номер и раскладушка. Чайника, холодильника нет. Но если воду можно набрать в кулере на ресепш, то отсутствие холодильника огорчило. Завтрак неплохой. Без большого разнообразия, но голодными не останетесь.

Good price, close to Caltnieks stadium

Normal hotel for good price. Staff is friendly and polite. Rooms are quite small, and condition of hotel is not so nice as in the pictures. Located 2,6 km from the city center, but close to the stadium ‘Caltniek’. So i recommend if you need to stay close to thr stadium. In other cases i would choose another one, in the center.

Двухместный номер очень маленький. Душ ванной на кафельном полу за занавеской. Естественно, все полы- мокрые. Работа ресторана заявлена до 23 часов, мы приехали в 21 час, он уже не работал, пришлось ехать в центр, чтобы поесть. Персонал очень дружелюбный, есть бесплатная парковка. Понравился завтрак.

Старый отель

Старый отель. В номере все простенько и чисто. Занавеска в душевой короткая, поэтому вся вода при принятии душа оказывается на полу всей ванной комнаты. Завтрак очень-очень скромен, практически ничего нет. Но есть своя парковка. Соотношение цена-качество нормальное только со скидками, 45 евро это не стоит, т.к. за эти деньги можно поселиться в нормальном, более современном отеле в центре города.

Staying in Daugapvils

I spent 3 nights in this hotel and it was fine for me. It is not close to the city center but there is a bus station nearby. Calling taxis wass easy and ship.

A nice hotel a bit out of downtown

Two rooms, for cousins and me, and they were fine -- although once you get off the elevator, there might be three or four steps up to your room, Rooms are functional, clean, tiny (24") TV screens you can barely see from the bed. Sauna was great, my cousins said. Meals were fine, and the only option within walking distance. Great alternative to the downtown Plaza, where the food and view is great, accommodations overpriced.

Our original hotel didn't have our booking, so this was a fall back. It sufficed for the one night that we were there. However, there was no fan or air conditioning so the room was a little oppressive as the temperature was in the high twenties (centigrade). Breakfast was simple, but okay.

Die Stadt Dünaburg selbst macht einen etwas trostlosen Eindruck, wenn da nicht der restaurierte Teil der Festung wäre. Eigentlich sollten in der Festung alle Bauten aus der Sowjetzeit entfernt und die von den Sowjets abgerissenen Bauten wieder hergestellt werden. Man könnte in den Festungsbauten moderne Wohnungen einrichten. Das aber dürfte die Finanzen der Region Dünaburg überfordern. Ansonsten ist Dünaburg ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um die mehr oder weniger gut erhaltenen alten Herrensitze beiderseits der Grenze kennen zu lernen. Essen sollte man auf der litauischen Seite. Das Speisenangebot in Dünaburg selbst ist nicht gerade anziehend. Das Frühstück im Hotel Dinaburg war das schlechteste auf unserer gesamten Baltikumsreise.
