I had a really comfortable and quiet stay. It was very close to the train station and local amenities. I was pleased with it being a budget hotel but also exceeding my expectations. The staff were super friendly and made my stay great. A*

All Good👍
Very good value for money, had everything we needed for a stop gap for a long journey
I feel that overall I received 'good value for money'. The free parking is very handy and the Hotel is situated in a good location. My room was basic but clean & tidy.

Very Satisfied
The hotel is very convenient and functional representing value for money. It is a little tired but that in no way detracts from its appeal.
I arrived at this hotel only to find that it was closed down due to health and safety issues i was not notified of this which left me 200 miles from home with no place to stay.

A bit shabby
The main building is impressive, as was the room at first glance but cleanliness was poor and everything looked a bit shabby. If it’s just for one night, it might suffice and it was pretty cheap. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Location wise this was great but that was it's only plus.
Room very basic and separate bathroom was a pain.
Biggest pain, though, was cold shower.
Really helpful receptionist. Had a drama with the tv not working in my room and got moved to another room with en-suite.
Only niggle, if I had stayed in the original room on 1st floor, over the bar, my musical appreciation would have been tested a tad due to the volume. Other than that, no dramas.
Absolutely horrendous. Above a night club of some sort so bass was banging until 3am. Certainly not a hotel I would recommend. Room not the cleanest and the shower was either scalding hot or freezing.
Cracking little place tbh. Sadly the mattresses were really poor. We both slept badly and woke up sore. Overall very good, new mattress would have made it fantastic. Temp conteol in the radiator didnt work. And heating was on despite being 20 degrees outside. But generally nothinh to vomplain about

Disliked: Amenities
The bathroom in general is not clean and the window is not completely closed
Photos of rooms are misleading. Rooms were very run down and furniture old. Did not match the pictures when booking. Had no towels in the room when we arrived, and toilet repeatedly flooded anytime it was flushed. Very little amenities and quite dingy. Very disappointing visit, would not stay here again.
The room itself was tidy and clean👍 However, the shower did not work properly - the flow was weak AND the water was FREEZING!!!! I only stayed for one night - and so I simply informed the Reception when I was leaving (I made do).
Reception were polite, but there was no (part) refund offered.
I left disappointed.

Good location - needs to attend to some minor fail
Very good access to railway station and large, comfortable room with good wifi. Let down by tea/milk not being provided on first night - given on request, complimentary biscuits only on second night. I reported the bathroom strip light/shaver socket as not working on the first night and was assured it would be fixed the next day - it wasn't. The music from the nearby Bar might be unwelcome but finished by 10pm on Wed. night - may finish later Fri/Sat.

The hotel has no air conditioning and in temperature of over 30 degrees it was unbearable even with a fan. Also no lift and bedrooms could only be accessed via stairs which is no good for people with mobility problems. Car park access was around the back via a road and then pebbles so again no good for people with mobility issues.

Upon arrival at reception I was greeted by loud music coming from the bar. The rooms they put me in was refurbished but that did not include secondary double glazing to eliminate the road noise. It was so loud that my Daughter asked me what the noise was when I was Facetiming her. As there was no other refurbished room available, I was offered an un-refurbished room which was frankly not fit to stay in (I had no choice as by this time it was 9 pm). I booked in for two nights but left after one. I don't think I've stayed anywhere quite like it before. Not so much a hotel with a bar, more like a pub with rooms. The fella on reception was more interested in drinking and playing pool than greeting and dealing with customers. Alex Polizzi would shut this place down.
The shower cubicle was not clean, the shower head connection pipe was damaged. The towel rail fell apart when putting towel on it. The Toilet was damaged.
I booked bed and breakfast; only to find out on the first morning that it was a continental breakfast that was paid for and it would be a further £7.50 per person per day for a cooked breakfast! Which is what I thought I had paid for!!!
The continental breakfast was very poor, no toast or bread, stale croissants and pastries, muffins only appeared on our last day.
As I specified Bed and Breakfast (cooked) I was left very disapointed with the state of the bathroom and the breakfast.
The hotel was good value for money. You get what you pay for, and for this price you get a standard hotel. It's comfortable and does the job if you're doing something in the area, but isn't a destination hotel.
We had a deluxe double room, and the furnishing was nice and in good condition. The bathroom was lovely with modern fittings and very clean.
There is no lift that we could see and there were a lot of stairs, so is something to be aware of if you have heavy bags or walking issues.
Maintenance could be slightly better as my bedside light was missing a bulb and there was a large hole in the skirting board that was covered by a metal plate which wasn't actually attached to anything.
Sadly, the breakfast was an absolute shambles. There was just one poor girl running around doing everything which meant people were waiting a long time for food. The cereal and drinks table was a total mess and there were no mugs or glasses so we weren't able to have a drink. We waited over 10 minutes to be served, despite there only being 4 other tables in the restaurant which has already been seen to. The table next to us waited 45 minutes for their food, and when our full English breakfasts arrived they came on a side plates. There was one small piece of bacon and no sausages as they had run out. They cooked the eggs wrong (fried instead of scrambled as ordered), the toast was cold, and we had a small thimble of beans.
Definitely would not have paid £7.50 for this.
