The space
Welcome to a corner of history and nature, at an altitude of 700 meters, in the ancient village of Sacco. Our house is not just an accommodation, but a piece of alpine life: once the heart of a farm dedicated to the production of the famous Bitto cheese, it still preserves that authentic soul today. You will be guests at Ca’ Bastiàn, our family home that treasures the history of Uncle Bastiano; here we have restored the ancient barn to transform it into an independent design retreat, enriched by a private and reserved green corner entirely dedicated to you.
At the entrance, you will be welcomed by a small private museum showcasing ancient tools of the trade, witnesses of a centuries-old tradition that we will be happy to share with you. Surrounding the house, our meadows host donkeys and horses trained for galloping, making the landscape lively and bucolic.
The suite, with its own completely independent entrance, is a self-contained housing unit located on the second floor of the beautifully renovated barn. We have maintained the original charm, such as the characteristic multi-pane window, combining it with the unique warmth of a solid fir wood floor, coming directly from our woods. The heating is autonomous.

At your complete disposal, you will find:
- Sleeping Area: A spacious room designed for ultimate relaxation, with a cozy double bed perfect for a romantic getaway, a stay with friends, or a rejuvenating break for solo travelers. A clothes rack and a vintage chest complete the room, while the natural wood beneath your feet will give you an immediate sense of well-being.
- Refreshment Corner: Designed for your self-sufficiency, you will find a table and a corner equipped with everything you need to prepare a refreshing breakfast or a quick meal (mini-fridge, coffee machine, milk warmer, kettle, plates, and cutlery).
- Bathroom: Private and equipped with a modern shower, soft towels, a hairdryer, a hair straightener, body wash, and shampoo.
- Private Outdoor Space: At your complete disposal, you can enjoy an exclusive, peaceful green corner with a breathtaking 360° view of the Valtellina Orobie and the peaks of Valgerola. It is equipped with a table to enjoy breakfast in the sun, have lunch, enjoy an aperitif, or relax in total tranquility under the stars in the evening.

In our accommodation, animals are more than welcome: they are part of our daily life.
The property is home to horses, donkeys, and dogs, and it is a place designed for those who truly love being in contact with animals and nature.
We gladly welcome your four-legged friends too, as long as they are not afraid of our "feisty" chihuahua :)

The surrounding area
Ca' Bastiàn is located in the heart of the ancient village of Sacco, a historic hamlet of Cosio Valtellino. Walking through its stone streets, you will breathe the atmosphere of yesteryear. The village is famous for hosting the Homo Salvadego (Wild Man), a very rare 15th-century fresco that testifies to the rural identity of the area. It is the ideal place for those seeking peace, silence, and an authentic contact with the Valtellina tradition, far from the chaos of crowded tourist routes.

Getting around
Without needing to move your car, you can immerse yourself in the trails of Valgerola, including:
- Cima della Rosetta: An unforgettable classic for its panoramic 360° view.
- Lago di Culino: An alpine pearl nestled among the pastures.
- Alpe Olano: Ideal for a rejuvenating walk among historic alpine huts and views of the Rhaetian Alps.
- Sentiero del Bitto (Bitto Trail): To discover the places where the famous historic rebel cheese is born.

If you have a car, here are some beautiful places reachable by drive:
- Morbegno (8 min): The beating heart of the lower valley. Perfect for the aperitivo ritual, exploring historic food and wine shops, or dining in typical Valtellinese restaurants.
- Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi: Immediate access to countless treks immersed in wild and protected nature.
- Pescegallo (20 min): A ski resort ideal for families and the starting point for the ascent to the Salmurano Refuge and Lake Pescegallo.
- Colico & Lake Como (20 min): To go from the mountain to the beach in a flash; ideal for water sports (kite and windsurfing) or a sunset on the lakeside promenade.
- Val di Mello (30 min): The "European Yosemite", a breathtaking nature reserve with granite walls and crystal-clear waters, a paradise for bouldering and relaxing trekking.
- Ponte nel Cielo (Bridge in the Sky) (30 min): In Campo Tartano, one of the highest and most spectacular Tibetan bridges in Europe.

Other things to note
Please note that from July 1, 2026, the Municipality of Cosio Valtellino has introduced a mandatory Tourist Tax. The tax amounts to € 3.00 per person per night, due only for the first 5 consecutive nights of the stay. Children under 12 are exempt. This local municipal tax is not included in the booking rate and will be collected directly by the host upon arrival or prior to check-out (in cash or through the methods provided by the booking platform used).
