This is a great place to stay in Coober Pedy. A very nice underground appartment close to everything. The only slight downside was that the wifi only works outsite the room (it can't penetrate the rock), but the manager says that will be fixed soon.

Kitchen equipment is poorly set up, no wine glasses, no bowls for salad or mixing, only 3 drinking glasses for a 5 bed accommodation, no extraction for cooking resulting in smoke alarm activation.

It was a great experience to sleep under ground however the property needs renovating. Cushions and couch were dirty with stains on them. The mattress was sagging, not comfortable.

Not just dirty but unclean. Blood on bathroom wall. Couches very dirty and quite old. Beds very uncomfortable. I understand it’s the outback but that doesn’t remove the need for a basic clean. Wouldn’t recommend.

The room was quite and plenty of parking but very 1970s decor. The accomodation was average for the price paid. A note saying it’s all about the underground unique experience was left on the kitchen table? The bathroom was filthy, outdated with cracks in the sink and the shower rose was broken and water shot out everywhere. We contacted the office by email twice but they never got back to us. Would definitely not recommend staying at Desert View Appartments 😡

Good budget accommodation

Good budget hotel. There’s no reception, check in details are provided through text message and key lock box. The rooms are quiet and clean and huge. The quality of the furnishings is basic but okay for a short stay. Lovely view from the sitting area outside.

Would not recommend, communication with owners is poor as no one on site, walked into room and first thing you see is a massive hole in the rock wall where randomly bits of dirt fall out of did question if the whole thing was going to fall in, beds where rock hard could count the springs that you where laying on.

Potentially the place to stay in Coober

Excellent apartment/room - a bit weird but a nice experience. Well equipped with all you need for self catering and good amenities such as soap, shower stuff, etc. Yes, you can't escape the fact this has been hewn from the earth but a few upgraded touches, like decent blinds and curtains and this could be one on the nicest overnights in Coober. Even has the perfect spot for a sundowner - as long as you have a cloth to remove the bird crap!

The beds were terrible, especially the single beds. The place is run down and tired. The free wifi never worked, the screen door acraped the ground every time it was opened or closed.

Disappointed. Place was not clean, beds are rock hard (except 1) furniture old and uncomfortable, and not enough cutlery for 5 people that we booked for. Free wifi does not work. Password provided was incorrect.
