About this property

Houseboat River Queen a Peaceful Retreat on The Rondout Creek

  • Welcome aboard the River Queen.

You are now on Creek Time.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to wake up on the water, this is your invitation.

Docked in a quiet marina on The Rondout Creek, River Queen offers a unique Hudson Valley escape where life naturally slows down. Enjoy your morning coffee on the upper deck as the creek comes to life, watch boats drift by throughout the day, and spend your evenings under a sky reflected in the water.

Although the setting feels peaceful and tucked away, River Queen offers the best of both worlds: peaceful mornings on the water and easy access to everything the area has to offer.

Lake Sophia, Kingston’s new swimming hole, is a short 10-minute drive from the marina. Visit Kingston’s historic districts, browse local art galleries and quaint shops, dine at waterfront restaurants, visit nearby wineries and farms, then return to the quiet rhythm of the creek to watch the sunset from the deck.

Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, planning a romantic getaway, exploring the Hudson Valley, or simply looking for a peaceful place to recharge, we’d be honored to welcome you aboard.

    The Space

River Queen is thoughtfully designed for two adults seeking a relaxing and memorable stay.

    Inside you’ll find:

    • A comfortable bedroom with cozy linens

    • A welcoming living area with beautiful water views

    • A well-equipped kitchenette for simple meals

    • A private bathroom

    • Air conditioning and Wi-Fi

    • Outdoor seating perfect for coffee, reading, or an evening glass of wine

    Why Guests Love Staying Here:

    • A truly unique houseboat experience in the Hudson Valley

    • Peaceful waterfront setting

    • Just five minutes from Kingston’s vibrant Rondout Waterfront

    • Ideal for couples celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, or simply time together

    • Convenient access to hiking, historic sites, shopping, restaurants, breweries, and local attractions

    • Responsive hosts who live nearby if you need assistance

River Queen is best suited for adults seeking a peaceful getaway. While children may visit the marina with proper supervision, the River Queen is designed as a quiet retreat for grown-ups.

We simply ask our guests to respect the water, the marina, and the peaceful atmosphere that makes this place so special.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

I have never slept on a boat and it was great. Occasionally a boat would go by a bit fast and the waves would rock the boat - that was interesting if I was standing but wonderful if I was laying or sitting down. The location was peaceful and exactly what I was seeking. I did get some work done but I was trying to take off a few days and the location, boat, and the length of stay were all exactly what I needed. The host was amazing as well. Nice, responsive, lived close by and hence was available if something went wonky. One warning - which was why I picked it. There is one restaurant you can walk to. The food was good but the bar area was small - with the ability to take your drink outside if you wanted and on nice days that was great. You have to drive everywhere else. Grocery store, C-Store, restaurant, etc.
