I absolutely love this hostel! It’s nice and clean and the staff is really friendly and helpful ! I’ve stayed here a few times since the 1st time. As a solo female traveler I would say 10/10 recommend!
Awesome place, super clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is a must if you’re in town. Make sure to save time to sit around the fire pit and mingle with the other guests.
Great location, facilities, and free complimentary stuff they offer such as Coffee, and earplugs to sleep. The beds are clean and comfortable, shared bathrooms are clean. The only missing thing with this hostel is free parking, but there are plenty of options nearby to park, of course, you need to pay for it - I spent between 4 pm on the arrival day to the next day around 11 AM $30.
Overall really awesome place. The building is just a few years old and has a modern, simple and elegant design to it that I liked. Service was good, though bear in mind they leave at 9pm. It was a little hard to find at first. It's behind the Flying Squirrel restaurant. You want the gravel driveway off Passenger St.
CrashPad felt like home away from home. Simple but bright and airy, great location next to Flying Squirrel also owned by CrashPad. We would have loved to use the Fire ring outdoor area but we’re in town for a race with limited time. Somehow concrete floors seem so much cleaner than carpet… there was some stray crumbs and confetti from prior guests but minimal. We like the LEED certified simplicity and design - bathroom could use a new coate of paint but not a big deal. Thank you for the fun and unique stay, a welcomed concept which made our Chattanooga experience much better than prior visits to this town.
I have no idea how this place has such high ratings. Although initially the check in clerk was kind and somewhat helpful, my stay at this hostel was disgustingly bad. I opted for a private room which was actually not even close to what the misleading ad boasted. It was very hot with no thermostat to adjust the temperature and it was also very dirty. The entire place smelled like the combination of a filthy college dorm room and a musty locker room. It was rather disgusting. I booked the room to get a good nights sleep and got none at all due to the combination of several disheartening matters. First of all, as I stated, the room was very hot with no thermostat. Then there was the continual noise from an entry/exit door next to my room which had a loud clanking lock mechanism that sounded off constantly throughout the night as people went in and out. The room was not sound proof at all. Worst of all, after lying on the bed for a while I began to feel itchy bites from something (bed bugs maybe?) all over my body. After a full sleepless night of this ridiculousness, around 6am I eagerly rushed take a shower to wash off whatever was biting me in my bed and in less than five minutes the shower water was ice cold. I sincerely do not care to write such a critical review but the truth is that this place was terribly misrepresented online and it was so bad that I honestly would have been happier to have slept outside in a tent at a local campground.
Traveling with a family of five this couldn’t have been more perfect. Great location with excellent restaurants within a short walk and room set-up was perfect for our group.
This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. I had one of the bunk beds but had loads of space plus the curtains if I wanted privacy. (I felt likeI was staying on an overnight train!) The common areas, both inside and outside, were really nice.
As far as the location -- it couldn't have been better. There were restaurants and bars right there. And, if I wanted to head into town, it was easily walkable or I rented a bike.
I will stay there again for sure!
I had a great stay at this property and it was my first stay at a hostel. The Crash Pad offers bunk style beds and private room options. It’s located in a great area with lots of great restaurants in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
This place is definitely one of a kind! It was my first hostel experience and I enjoyed it even though I was reluctant when booking. I needed an affordable and safe place to stay and this was exactly what I needed. I loved having dinner next door at the Flying Squirrel and the surrounding area is absolutely amazing. It’s a fantastic location! Which consequently makes parking a bit of a headache, but it’s worth it. I had to park in a nearby parking garage the first night, but got a free spot behind the building the second night. Comfortable, clean, and love how eco-friendly it is! Definitely recommend!
Wife and I were in town for one night to see son and his family. Crash Pad was close by and perfect for us. Good accommodation. Will stay at the "Pad" during my next stay in Chattanooga. Good job!
The Crash Pad was my first hostel experience ever - and I loved it! From the moment of checking in, I felt comfortable and welcomed. The bunks are very comfortable & the curtains provide nice privacy. The bathrooms are super clean. Each guest I encountered was pleasant & nice to talk with and had respect for others. Unlike at a hotel environment, at The Crash Pad, it felt relaxing and normal just to chat with others as if it’d been planned we were all there together. Not once did I feel unsafe about staying there on my own. It’s a very secure building and the bunk quarters are secure as well. The staff is extremely kind, helpful and friendly with excellent customer service! (A+ for sure! I teach in a high school & this was very appreciated!😃) They have a lot of information available on things to do in the area and if you can’t find it, just ask.
My only regret - I didn’t notice the hats for purchase earlier! I saw them on my last night as I headed out for a wedding dinner & thought I’d return early enough to purchase. My loss!
***You honestly can’t go wrong choosing to stay at The Crash Pad!
Fantastic location, little funky figuring out the doors and parking and foyer and etc, but a good experience overall. The showers ran out of hot water and maybe it was just cooties, but they seemed dirty. Nothing serious. As I said, overall, it was a good experience.
Super cute hostel! We loved our stay here! The located was great, close to many dinings and shops. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Our room was very clean, the beddings are comfy. Only thing worth to mention is that the room was not very sound proof, we can hear our next door neighbor talking and walking. Other than that, it was great!
