While the greater Charlotte area is not directly on the coast, it offers several beautiful lakeside spots that deliver a beach-like experience. Lake Norman, just a short drive from downtown Charlotte, features sandy beaches perfect for swimming and sunbathing, along with water sports like jet skiing and paddleboarding. The nearby Jetton Park has over 100 acres of parkland, where families can enjoy picnicking, hiking, and playing on the beach. For a unique experience, visit the U.S. National Whitewater Center, where you can try whitewater rafting or relax by the riverside after a day of adventure. For a more serene escape, head to Freedom Park, which has a lovely lake surrounded by walking trails and open green spaces. As you explore these areas, consider staying in the charming town of Cornelius, where you’ll find hotels that combine luxury with convenience, offering easy access to the lakeside activities while pampering you with exceptional service and amenities.

Great Wolf Lodge Concord

8/10 Good
"The only thing I didn’t like is the way the AC unit was set up in the design of the room for the wolf den the kids where hot and the adults where cold … if you look at the set up there needs to be more of a flow the divider Of the wolf den and the queen bed at the top need to put an opening so the AC could flow to the wolf den and not bounce off and freeze the adults in the bed"
