"First of all, Holiday Inn Express is one of two hotels my wife and I prefer over any others. These two are slightly more expensive than some others, but the quality of the beds, staff, faclities, etc, and including the breakfasts, is usually worth it. NOT THIS TIME: The gravy for the biscuits and gravy was cold - not "not warm", cold. The "omelets" were cool at best. After I trashcanned the first plate, I dug another off the bottom of the tray. It was slightly warmer, not warm, certainly not hot. The sausage patties were cold, and tasteless. Worst of all, the traditional highlight of the HI Express breakfast - the cinnamon rolls were also not even warm except on the very top. (They were still quite excellent after I took them to the room and ran them in the microwave for half a minute). Basically, today, 3/25/26, about 7:30, breakfast just wasn't worth it."

"Room was clean, however the bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. The breakfast was very basic and not alot of options but still good. Pool was nice but small. Staff was friendly."

"1 star – Scam listing, avoid at all costs I booked a stay at what was listed as the Oyo motel in Cave City, KY through Expedia, and it turned out to be completely fraudulent. When we arrived, the property looked nothing like the photos. The building was dark, run-down, and clearly not in operation. There were no lights on, no staff, and a sign on the door stating that the “Countryside Inn is not associated with OYO or the past owners” and that anyone who booked online would need to contact whoever they booked through for a refund. So essentially, this location is closed, yet still being listed and sold as an active hotel. We were left scrambling at night to find another place to stay, which was stressful and completely avoidable. To make matters worse, Expedia has been unhelpful in resolving this, and after digging into the reviews, it’s clear this has been happening to other people for months. It is unacceptable that this listing is still live and taking people’s money. Avoid this listing entirely. It is not a functioning hotel."

"Pretty isolated location, but that is to be expected. Reataurant has food that is pretty limited. Expect cheap diner food. Nice wine selection, though. No extra blankets!"

"This hotel was not only nice and clean, but the service was excellent! Our car was dead in the parking lot when we were leaving, and the staff was more than helpful! This is so rare! Front desk staff and maintenance were super helpful getting our car jumped and so friendly! Loved this stay. "

"The trip started poorly. Property mgmt & Expedia are not on the same page. I was told different costs for pets. We were not told by the front desk about amenities. We lost money in the laundry room. Front desk said they'd inform mgmt. We never heard back. "

"The room was clean, however, the light over the sink flickered constantly, the water pressure was on and off and it sputtered so showers were a little difficult washing long hair. Other than that it was great. The hotel is sitting in pretty much a central area to everything from Mammoth Cave to Kentucky Downunder. Dinosaur World is just over the Hwy from the hotel. "
