"The hotel itself is very dated that is also as its an old building and the character of the building is from 18th century. The room was okay and can be improved. The staff looked agitated and not very friendly. The restaurant menue is overly priced and very limited. No service except within limited lunch and dinner time with pre booking."

"Stayed here to attend a conference on site which was convenient. Breakfast is very good and I really liked the on site spa and fitness facilities. The spa had a promotion with the hotel which was good. The room is nice, comfortable and clean. Would’ve appreciated a mini fridge in the room although the hotel staff allowed me to keep things in reception. The reception staff are generally very helpful except one male manager during my stay who was not very flexible or helpful."

"The hotel was lovely in a beautiful place and great views all round. We were upgraded which was great and the room was clean, great quality, comfortable and spacious. All the staff were very lovely and professional. The pool and sauna area was nice but I would say not to book this hotel for that as it was quite basic but a nice extra. We decided not to eat in either of the restaurants as they were both pretty expensive. One negative is there isn't really anything nearby in the way of shops or restaurants so you would have to drive for these. The breakfast was great though and we appreciated that the hot food was not a buffet but cooked fresh for each guest. Overall we had a lovely time and would love to come back again, we only stayed for one night and that didn't feel long enough!!"

"We arrived at the hotel & a warm welcome. Everyone was friendly & accommodating. We were especially happy with there knowledge of gluten free foods. The food was in a word Fantastic & plenty choices! A lovely place to stay with a walkin shower & nice seated area to enjoy the sun. "Would definitely recommend, and aim to stay again next year. Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings - far enough away from the busy Lake District hotspots to make it a peaceful stay, yet close enough to everywhere you might want to visit! Beautiful garden and pond, with friendly ducks. Clean throughout with spacious room and bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Great breakfasts with lots of choice. Only little niggle - it would be an added bonus to be able to have a cappuccino or latte choice at breakfast :)"
