Lovely clean property right in the Centre of Catania. There is a fantastic food and fish market practically on your doorstep. Loads of wonderful restaurants to walk to along with beautiful Baroque churches and architecture.

We really liked our stay at B&B Gisira. Silvia was very helpful and kind. The room was very clean and practical. It is located in the very centre of Catania, and the perfect starting point to experience the city and go to Taormina, Siracusa and the Etna. Would recommend!

Neben Zimmern zur Straße gibt es offensichtlich auch ein Zimmer zum Innenhof. Die Balkontür öffnet den Blick zur 5x5 Meter großen Lichtöffnung, die sich ca. 10 Meter über dem Balkon befindet. Untermalt wird dieser dunkle Eindruck mit einem laufenden Kühlkompressor und einer Waschmascine im Innenhof. Der Schlagzeuger / Musiker aus dem angrenzenden Nachbarhaus (am Kopfende unseres Betts) verstummte zum Glück vor 23 Uhr. Auf dem Toilettensitz konnten wir uns Setzen, wenn wir die Duschabtrennung beiseite geschoben haben. Leider war das Zimmer 10 Grad kalt, weil nicht vorgeheizt. Nachvollziehbar, weil auch die Klimaanlage nicht heizen wollte.

Cute place and excellent location! At night, there are several good restaurants in Via Gisira. In the morning, there’s a charming fruit and vegetable market. The b&b is also an easy walk to most sights of interest in Catania. The place itself is simple, but clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. Oh, and if you’re driving, as in advance where to park. There’s an easy public parking place nearby.

Everything about this propery was good however, in the morning i was given a voucher to claim a breakfast at a nearby cafe. Only i couldnt find it. So i didnt get any breakfast😒

Questo B&B è stato recentemente ristrutturato, pertanto abbiamo trovato il locale che sapeva di nuovo. La stanza ben accessoriata, con infissi nuovi e doppi vetri che isolano perfettamente dal risveglio del mercato sottostante. Molto pulita, pulizia e cambio asciugamani giornaliero. La proprietaria molto gentile e disponibile. Lo consigliamo per qualità del locale e per l'ottima posizione, pieno centro zona pedonale. La colazione in luogo separato a 2 minuti di distanza in un locale simpatico e giovanile. Siamo stati molto bene lo consigliamo.

10 giorni meravigliosi a Catania

Appena arrivati al b&b la signora Gina ci ha accolti con cordialità e disponibilità facendoci sentire a casa . Il b&b è in pieno centro storico comodissimo per raggiungere tutti I luoghi di interesse. Fermata dell'autobus nelle vicinanze e ben collegata . La signora Gina è una meravigliosa padrona di casa , il suo b&b è accogliente e non manca nulla , abbondante colazione e pulizie giornaliere . Che dire grazie signora Gina , torneremo .

Die Vernieterin Gina ist sehr nett. Das Frühstück ist eher einfallslos ohne frische Produkte, deshalb ist dieses B&B eher für Kurztrips geeignet.

Don't let external appearances but you off!

When the taxi dropped me at the hotel I was very unsure. It is close to the fish market, bus and train station, and peeling paint and grafitti adorn the narrow street walls. At ground level there is just a wooden door with a small B&B sign pinned to it, but once inside marble stairs rise to the main door. The receptionist speaks very little English, but is very friendly and helpful. She even lugged my suitcase up the remaining stairs. The breakfast room is really well kitted for a cold breakfast, including cereals, various breads, fruit, yogurt, teas and a coffee machine. The spacious bedroom was decorated in sunflower colours(!). Live music placed somewhere nearby until midnight, then the streets became peacefully quiet. I was awoken by noises and voices outside my window before dawn. When I eventually ventured through the curtains I was surprised to see a fruit market right along the street. It may have been listed in the B&B details, but I hadn't taken note. I don't know if it is on very day, but it's there on Friday. All in all, I had a very pleasant and insightful stay for my first experience of an Italian city.

Grazioso B&B

La signora Gina ospita con cortesia, discrezione ed efficienza in un B&B comodo, pulito, ben organizzato e gradevole nell'arredamento. Il B&B è centralissimo, nel bel mezzo del mercato di Catania, a due passi dalla piazza Duomo e di molte altre attrazioni culturali, vicino alla "piscaria" il mercato del pesce, zona piena di trattorie modeste ma con pesce freschissimo e ben cucinato in maniera semplice ma gustosissima. Ma proprio sotto le finestre del "sunflower" ci sono anche i banchi dei formaggi siciliani, una panetteria che sforna ogni giorno "pane cunzatu" e "schiacciata" buonissini e un banco che offre melanzane, peperoni e cipolle sfornate al primo mattino.
