Great!

A great place to stay with everything you'll need and want. Safe, secure, clean, tidy and well decorated. Literally only five minutes from city centre ...if you take your time! Steve and Lynne are great hosts too. 👍

Brooklyn guest House 3 nights

I had a 3 night stay in Carlisle room clean and tidy bathroom cleaned and towels changed daily bed comfortable and the guest house was eco friendly and was easy to get around town and train station was easy to understand where i was travelling to i would stay there again sometime next year. Etc

A beautiful quaint property near the centre of Carlisle. Fantastic hosts,lovely breakfast,immaculate inside and out of the building. Clean tidy rooms with everything you need.

Great recent 2 night stay. Just a few minutes walk from the city centre and owner kindly arranged a parking permit so was able to park just around the corner. Great value stay with comfy bed, hot shower and great breakfast. Just what I needed as a base.

Great little B&B

Situated close to the centre of Carlisle, clean, comfortable, quiet and all at a great price, especially considering it was a bit last minute. The owners are very friendly too and the breakfast was delicious. Couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend. :)

The host was very friendly and accommodating. There are stairs for those with mobility issues. Breakfast was arranged the day before and there was a selection of cereals. The hotel was next to a main road which made it very noisy with sirens and HGVs. However the hotel off is very competitive price for the area. If you want 4 or 5* then you need to pay more for it.

There are better places but..

Throughout my twenties, I have spent hundreds of hours, exploring new places, sleeping in various establishments for better or for worse and while Brooklyn house wasn’t the most horrible by far, there were various issues that I felt could be addressed. Good things first though, breakfast was probably the best I’ve tasted, host's vacillatingly friendly, even if, it was a pain to get hold of them and the building was next to immaculately clean. This brings me, quite nicely I must say to the bad points, which, are more like improvements to make the overall customer experience better. Immediately on my way there, I found my self getting lost as signage wasn’t made very clear. Then there was a problem with getting the hosts attention, which led me into a situation leaving me locked out and hypothermic, ( not their faults) but although I was given a code, I feel to prevent this in the future, needs to be made more clear. Having spent the night in the streets, it was important for me to warm up, however it was pretty hard, as the buildings heating system didn’t turn on till exactly midnight. Also found a spiders web and a few bits of dust in hidden places, along with slightly outdated, mismatched decor, not to mention, absent pillow protectors. Overall, experience was okay but it is at risk of becoming behind with the times.

The room was very comfortable, very cozy and warm despite my late arrival. Bed was very comfortable, didn’t take the breakfast due to leaving on successive early morning starts but Steve the my host was excellent by substituting a substantial Packed Lunch on both days including drink and fruit each day so would I recommend to others? Yes of course and would happily stay again next time I am in the area.
