The room was OK, basic but adequate.
Breakfast wasn't too great to be honest.
Bar closes very early in the evening.
Great location though, and the pizzas in the restaurant are very good.
Very small room, bathroom not good, bath with hand held shower attachment. Stayed 2 nights but room was not cleaned or bed made, wet towells.

Not worth it
Cthe web site looks fabulous, but after check in it was a bit down hill form there, although i will say we didnt complain as there was no one but a young lad to complain to and its want his fault.
bedroom was on the ground floor and at first it all seamed ok standard room a little small but ok for one night. then as we looked around several things we picked up on.
1 very sticky dressing table
2 only one tea bag on tea tray
3 very dirty set of second pillow ( i would of thrown them out)
4 light on bath room mirror always on could not find how to turn it off
4 on conditioner in the bath room and a bottle of had wash no shampoo or body wash ( my husband did go and ask about this and they said they would put some in the room , but that never happened )
5 not really there fault but room very noisy with people walking passed up until 12.30 and then at 4.30am the seagulls we constantly making lots of noise
you were asked what you would like for breakfast, but this didn't seam to be passed on the the staff in the morning so what was the point, also a little confusing with the tea and coffee and coffee you help your self to and tea you hope some one will get you .
all in all it was really not worth the money. as it was 100 for the night and i have stayed in cleaner rooms for under 50
so no i will not be retuning even though it is perfectly placed in Chepstow for all events
Seriously over priced for what you get. Not friendly or welcoming at all. Simply not a good experience.

Disliked: Staff & service
Room was lovely. Bring your own sugar, coffee and milk as you are only provided enough for 1 cup each. Asked staff for sachets etc to be told none available. More of a b and b than a boutique hotel. Clean though. No parking so make sure you pay your extra parking costs. Not worth £90.
Lovely warm welcome from the staff and very well looked after the pizzas there are amazing and freshly made. The room was comfortable warm and ideal for an over night stay and just minutes from the castle as well the breakfast was made fresh and was cooked very well
Service and staff were great. Room was freezing and no shower.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The staff are amazing: hardworking, kind, cheerful, helpful, empathetic and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The food is excellent. The pizzas have a well deserved reputation.
The building is a little tired. The bedroom needed some basic maintenance. £g. the window could not be left open as the part to fit the long arm onto was missing and so the window could have easily swung in the wind and broken. The cupboard next to the bed had a door which fell apart and simply needed some contact adhesive to fix. The cleanliness of the loos by the restaurants was not regularly checked and the loo brush was missing. The san bin needed emptying.
There are not enough staff. The current staff were amazingly hardworking but could not possibly be expected to cover 12 rooms, serve, clean, take bookings, answer the phone, deal with some demanding guests (race course attendees etc}. Some of the staff looked overtired and in need of a holiday or a few days off at least.
In terms of decor. A few pictures in the rooms or corridors would easily enhance. The iris flowers are pretty and the little flower arrangement in the room were sweet. There was no range of tea bags or biscuits in the bedroom. Staff were quick to supply decaff teabags and real milk on request.
Overall a very relaxing stay. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet and the staff especially Charlotte, Sarah and Matteo delightful.
The eco lighting system is great but the lights turn off too quickly and left me in darkness.
It was a pleasant stay, in a very good location. They provide a hairdryer but you have to ask for it. No hand towels provided and the breakfast was not as stated as a full English breakfast. The staff were very attentive and friendly.
So it all started very well, walked into the hotel and all looked very nice but then got to the room. There was a real bad cheesy feet smell in the room and the toilet didn’t seem fixed to the floor, the whole toilet literally wobbled. I spoke to a nice lady but nothing could be done because they were fully booked so we just had to accept it. The mattress was springy and uncomfortable. I was really hoping to speak to someone when we checked out but nobody around and he cook told me to leave the key on the table. Not a great experience at all which is a shame because The pizza looked amazing and we planned to take a couple home for the kids but TBH we left straight after breakfast. All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant so kind of feel sorry for them writing a review like this as the issues were not there fault.
They serve up lovely pizzas.
The breakfast was just basic , was not offered cereals or orange juice.
The hotel do not have their own carpark,. So had to park in the local carpark nearby and had get up early to pay for two hours .
Lovely stay and the staff are friendly. Place is clean and tidy. Walking distance for all of amenities and public transport.
Delicious food and can accommodate people with intolerance as I am a coeliac

The rooms were clean and tidy. Unfortunately that is the only positive. There was no hand towel in the bathroom. The coffee cup was broken and I couldn’t get a replacement. Tea & coffee supplied was minimal & again when asked for a couple more this wasn’t possible. We had to be up early, before usual breakfast time and asked if possible to have a small continental breakfast made up. Answer was no, we also requested a late check out and again was refused. So overall turned out to be a very expensive overnight stay and caused us a lot of issues which spoilt our reason for being there.
The Staff Decided to have a party until 3AM. I asked multiple times for them to be quite but the contued until the early hours. Will not be staying again and wouldnt recomend.
Bags of builders rubbish along the front wall of the building. Kept waiting outside in the cold for check in, never met the owner during our stay, no hot water or heating in the morning and one of the bedside lamps didn’t work.
