What I liked about this hotel was the location and that there was adequate parking outside. Whilst the hotel didn't have a restaurant and we had to go outside to a local place, it wasn't any distance and the food options were what I expected

Absolutely stunning view of the harbor! The staff is incredible from reception to housekeeping. Our room was ready early and they were so kind and helpful. The hotel is located just above what Sauvers, which became our favorite restaurant from the first night. Definitely recommend the boat company whale tour if you have a chance. Just across the street at cafe Pescado we had one of the best burgers (house made patties). We will definitely recommend to anyone and look forward to coming back.

The room was very nice although the bed had no top sheet and sleeping directly under a duvet can be rather hot. It rained on two of the days and there is no covered walkway between the hotel and the hotel restaurant. The town has become centre stage for a baboon troop and one has to dodge baboons when walking about town, shopping, or going to restaurants.

Hotel is in a great location in the centre of Simons Town and our room had a good sea view and was spacious, however, the reception and the rooms had a slight aroma of stale fried food from the restaurants below. The room itself is in need of repair and ungrade, bed was comfortable, but hard floor whilst swept however the surface was certainly not clean, we quickly we had very dirty soles to our feet. The underside of the shower seat was very badly stained and unhygienic, towels were old and one had a few small holes, surfaces in the bedroom were badly marked and repair or replacement needed as do the walls, no hair dryer was provided and on request the one offered also didn’t work! Our key card didn’t work and the one provided was the hotel master key to all rooms!!! It’s fortunate we’re honest! not sure if I had been happy knowing a random guest could easily enter my room. Balcony was in need of a good clean and sweep, we were also warned about Baboons who were nearby. In fairness the staff were friendly and attentive but the owners need to invest in their hotel and support and train staff. It’s not a 4 star hotel, we stayed in 4 star SA hotels either side of this stay and the difference was frankly very noticeable. Lastly the fire alarm went off one evening due to a client using a fire door upstairs, apparently a regular occurrence?
