First I would say I would recommend this hotel as a nice budget option, it looks lovely and is in a great location to access Cambridge and the surrounding areas, the pool and amenities are a great touch and the room was decent enough for the money which a nice tv, comfortable bed and a spacious room. - better suited for off peak travels Complimentary parking for IHG members was also a great touch meaning we saved considerably when it came to paying for parking unlike other hotels in the area. However - specific to our stay we were disrupted by a false fire alarm at 6am which continued for short bursts over a period of time because they “couldn’t reset it” which severely impacted our sleep. Our bedroom door was severely non soundproofed we could hear everything including the cleaning staff, knocking on other doors and other guests which sounded as if it was ours or in our room itself which wasn’t great and worsened by staying during half term meaning there were more kids around - which also meant the pool was very busy and we ended up not using it because of the amount of families at the time Also we had issues hearing water sounds from the bathroom and had no cold water on the day we checked in, making showering and washing hands difficult with only extremely hot water we also had issues with the toilet not flushing properly - the cold water was restored the day after when we had informed the reception staff but the toilet continued as an issue.
