Ok for a couple of nights

As others have said, the pool was not clean. There were beds & chairs around the pool but no comfort - no soft furnishings. The bedroom was small as was the bathroom. We were surprised to find there was no eggs option at breakfast unless you paid extra. Location was great & room itself was clean

Massive disappointment- having read the reviews and seen the pictures online we were really looking forward to our stay. We were shown to our room and initially all seemed good, until we realised that our room should have been a superior room with garden views. We had been allocated a room right with a street view. We decided as we were only there 2 nights probably would just stay ( we had driven most of the day and had unpacked) problem was no shutters on one window so the glow of the street light illuminated the room all night, and that’s without the traffic noise- yes we could have tried to get moved but couldn’t face repacking etc. other issues shower (room11) terrible the water pressure which continually pulsed and you had to wait ages for it to get hot, then it fluctuated between scalding hot and freezing cold, not very good for water saving??? Also very poor lighting and very limited power sockets. It’s a real shame the buildings and gardens are absolutely beautiful, it’s the details that let it down- also breakfast pretty poor and charging extra to have scrambled eggs - really??? Food in restaurant very good but the service was extremely slow, service generally nothing more than average- a real shame this place could and should be an absolute gem.

Cat at breakfast table.

The hotel itself is very well located in the center of town. It has an old look and is very simple, but has everything you need. Shower ran smoothly but hot/cold water combination was hard to obtain to get the right temperature, it was either too hot or too cold. Beds and pillows were comfy and the place was thoroughly cleaned during our stay. My only and biggest issue I have is with the hotel restaurant and the breakfast. There are cats around the property and during our first day, we saw a cat on top of the table, in between all the breakfast items. The cat came off the table and went its way, but after telling the staff about it, all they said was ‘yes, we have a problem with cats in the property’. If you know it’s a problem, why don’t you do something to protect the food people are eating from the cats?!! It seemed absolutely ridiculous and careless and as someone that has an allergy to cats, I was not ok with them being in the property, PERIOD.
