This was our second stay at Parsons. David and Alison are excellent hosts, breakfast is lovely and the rooms are quirky but tastefully decorated. Nothing is too much trouble.
This is a brilliant example of an English B&B. David and his wife are welcoming hosts. You are always armed with a cup of tea (if desired) and the breakfast is delicious. Comfortable, nicely decorated rooms too. A great base for walking in the Peaks.
Beautiful decor and wonderful hospitality. Lovely breakfast, copious pots of tea and coffee, comfortable bed and linen, good shower and altogether delightful.
We loved staying here! It was a lovely quirky place and we were very well looked after! We had lots of coffee and biscuits whenever we wanted them and two beautiful cooked breakfasts! The icing on the cake was Maud their lovely cat that we got to stroke a few times whilst we were there! We would definitely recommend people to stay here!
Perfect hosts with David offering hot drinks throughout the day.The breakfast was superb and we will be going back at some point when hopefully the weather is better!
David was an excellent host, extremely hospitable, offering to provide tea/coffee at every opportunity. The room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were exceptional. All together a very pleasant stay.
Lovely, unique and quirky property set in a quintessential English village. David the host was a delight, very accomodating and the breakfasts were amazing.
We wondered what we had let ourselves in for on arrival. How surprised we were as our stay progressed. The breakfasts were supreme, the service with a smile by our host, David, wonderfully assisted by Allison. Nothing was too much trouble. A very pleasurable stay. A nice location for our days out and always a welcome home cuppa on our return. Lovely memories.
I stayed with my granddaughter whilst the rest of our family were camping at the YHA. We certainly got the best deal. Our room was warm and cosy. The breakfast was excellent, the best I have ever had in bed and breakfast accommodation.
Thanks to our welcoming hosts.

Had a great couple of days at David’s guesthouse. David was very welcoming and hospitable. Very flexible to our needs. Always had a pot of coffee on hand when we got in! Amazing breakfasts with fresh local produce. Will come back soon!
Just returned from a couple of days staying here.
It was absolutely brilliant.
David is a very welcoming and friendly host who can't do enough to make your stay pleasant.
Rooms are really cool and the breakfast is one of the best - such great produce cooked perfectly.
Bang in centre of the village with parking and a lovely cat to greet you at the door!
We will be staying again very soon.
Thnak you!
A fabulous B and B in a beautiful village.
David offered endless trays of tea and shortbread , a restaurant standard breakfast and is a mine of information!
Our mattress was a dream and our sleep was blissful - we even had visits from resident kitty Maude!
Lovely comfortable stay @ the Parsons house b & b. Traditional cottage style house with quirky decor & a lot of original quirky fixtures & fittings. No kettle etc but David always makes sure you have tea or coffee freshly made whenever you want one. Lovely breakfast all fresh produce & everyone must try the breakfast trifle it’s delicious. Would recommend, it’s in a great location too Thank you Deb & Simon
It was a joy to stay at Parsons House - close to the village centre, the whole place is unusual and quirky; the owner, David, is kind and attentive, the bed one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in; the bath deep with a plentiful supply of hot water; fresh tea and coffee offered at every opportunity, and delivered to the bedroom door; and the breakfasts absolutely delicious - beautifully cooked and presented with local produce, breakfast trifle, and quince marmalade. I would highly recommend this B&B, and truly hope to go back one day. Many thanks, David :)
What can you say about parsons b&b only one word fantastic. David and his wife are the perfect hosts and nothing wasn’t any trouble. Every morning he would leave us a tray of tea and coffee with a jug of milk and no plastic small pots of milk in site. Rooms are beautiful decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant and all locally sourced and was superb, the parsons b&b is right in the heart of Hartington so you can park your car and have no need to drive it till you leave.
This b&b is a beautiful hidden gem and we will 100% be staying there again. Thank you David for making our stay really special and we will see you soon. Oh and one more thing even the cat was welcoming and very friendly
We loved every minute. Very welcoming and we felt at ease straight away! Breakfast was excellent, especially the starter which was a new thing for us but we are now making our own. Tea was on offer whenever you liked and also had a great selection from earl grey to fruit teas. Would definitely stop again if we plan on going to the area again.
Once again thank you!
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Parson B&B. It really elevated our weekend in the Peak District - where we had gone to do a rock climbing course. It made the perfect base to come back to a comfortable cosy house after being out in the winds, rain and rugged moors of the area. David is a fantastic and attentive host - who makes sure you are never without a tea or coffee and everything is going well with your trip.
The breakfast is fantastic - cooked to order - the breakfast trifle is a must have.
The location in Harington is perfect - it's a beautiful village.
The house itself is stunning and aesthetically pleasing.Maudy is a highlight of the property!
Highly recommend and we will try to be back.
