Better than the photos. Beautiful lawned area with great variety of trees. Room very clean with air con, comfortable beds and huge shower room. Everyone so helpful. Liz the manager is very friendly and her chef and team excellent. Water, milk and tea provided on arrival. Fridge in room. We ate there every night. Good home cooked meals. Enjoyed pre dinner drinks at the bar.
Breakfast menu great and cooked to order. Good security. We would return if ever in Bulawayo again.
A heartfelt Thank you to the property manager and the wonderful host, Liz and her team. We had one of the most beautiful stays at Musketeer´s in Bulawayo. Liz seemed to read our wishes from our lips and fulfilled every single one of them - far exceeding our expectations and making us truly happy.
We found a place maintained in a state of excellence, clearly reflecting Liz´s and her staff´s constant care and dedication. Moreover, Liz surprised and spoiled us with her excellent cooking, and she made our departure truly bittersweet - we actually grieved leaving.
Two very happy ladies from Austria send our deepest thanks, big huggs, and God´s blessings from the bottom of our hearts. Heidi and Sabine
I loved my stay at Musketeer Lodge! The cottage-style rooms are set in beautiful gardens with towering trees offering plenty of shade. The old farmhouse with its wrap-around veranda is where breakfast and dinners are served - both very tasty I must add! Liz and her team are doing a fantastic job, making guests feel welcome and looked after. I will most definitely stay at Musketeer Lodge on my next visit to Bulawayo.
The roads leading to the hotel were very bad with huge potholes. It’s a beautiful hotel, especially the outside area, however rooms leave a lot to be desired. Shower door was about to fall out, on arrival the room and bedding not clean. The thrower had makeup stains, room full of insects, especially spiders. Seems like tap water needs filtration because of insects coming out, water pressure disappointing, hot water limited at night probably due to solar geysers.
I can recommend this lodge without any reservations. A lovely African garden setting with birds and many other animals all around you, comfortable (if ageing) rooms and excellent food and a well-stocked bar. It is a reasonable distance from the town, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The staff are wonderful and so caring - nothing is too much trouble. Really great value for money and you cannot wish for a better base from which to explore Bulawayo and its surrounding. A great place also for a small business meeting!
