This is an excellent location if you want to be in the old town with all the restaurants and shopping. It's an area that is fun and lively, with lots of restaurants and shopping. A number of museums are within walking distance and Uber or taxis can take you anywhere else. The unit itself is generous in size, clean and bright, with a comfortable bed. We also had a kitchenette, which made it easy to have a coffee in the mornings. The staff is responsive. Be prepared to walk up the stairs as there is no elevator.

Old Town chic

Excellent stay in a lovely room. Beautifully decorated with good aircon. We had a small plumbing problem which was fixed within 10 minutes of us calling. The room is well situated in the old town and a bonus is the lovely coffee/ice cream shop below the apartment. Recommend for a stay in Bucharest.

Great location, the place is in the center of the old town with all the restaurants and bars. Nice and clean. No parking, Uber/Taxi or public transportation access only. Make sure you go on their site and get the link to the check in ahead of time, so they send you the code for the door before you arrive. We did not, and it took a bit of back and forth, trying to find a phone number to call until we got to enter the room. Overall, I recommend it without hesitations

I have mixed feelings about this property. The room was really beautiful but it had skylights without shades so the room got very hot and even after pulling the curtains over, lots of light came in. My room was on the top floor with no lift so LOTS of stairs. The bathroom had a lot of black mold growing in the shower. Area was in the old town but not in the crazy loud part so it was quiet at night and felt safe.

Holt is a gorgeous hotel in the heart of the Old Town! My room had cathedral ceilings and was filled siege old world charm. The cherry on the cake was the beautiful balcony overlooking the cobblestones streets, where I enjoyed coffee each morning. The room was spotless and staff were prompt and friendly via email. Note - there is no front desk here and you must walk up steep marble steps to the rooms - but it’s worth it! Book a stay at Holt and get ready to enjoy magical Bucharest.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at HOLT - Old Town! Yes there are stairs to climb, and yes it is a vibrant, busy part of town, so if these things do not appeal to you do not stay here. Check-in was easy. We got the info via email and everything worked smoothly. The room was nicely appointed and very clean. The bed was rather firm but still cozy. The bathroom had plenty of amenities, but no body lotion or make-up remover so be sure to pack those items. It, too, was very clean. Nightlife around the hotel is hopping, but not as lively as other locations in Old Town. We did hear voices and music until all hours of the early morning - this did not bother us though. Food options around the hotel feel endless. There's not a lot of shopping beyond a couple of souvenir stores. It's a very walkable neighborhood and we felt safe at all times. We would certainly stay at HOLT Old Town again!

First, never stayed at this property concert before, No front desk staff, but that said when I called HOLT, they handled things. That’s a positive. Yuh do need to buy insurance through them, although optional you never know what will be claimed after the fact from a country location you don’t live. I did get locked out of building, but it got resolved. Location was central to everting. Roiom very nice. A/C unit was odd to operate, but fashionable. Lots of positives, but it is a unique experience and thus enjoyed. Sorry if this seems mixed, but it’s different to traditional stay.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

The location of the hotel was great right in the area of Old town but away from the loud noise. The check-in process could be simpler by sending an email to inform guests of the check in process because I was completely unaware until I got to the hotel close to 11pm and had call a NY several times before I reached someone for assistance and even when I did the instructions given took several attempts to work and calls and messaging back and forth. Very frustrating. The room was quite nice! However, when using the shower water pretty much goes everywhere due to not having a shower door and the drainage not working adequately to keep the water from wetting most of the bathroom floor. Several towels were used during my stay to prevent a possible slip and fall from all the water. A microwave could be useful as well but not a total necessity. Overall not bad tho!

I got the top floor room, so I can’t open the window easily (I was not able to do so) and when it rain, it is really noisy. There is a fully equipped kitchen but no table in the room, so no where to have breakfast. Also, I arrived in the early morning, it was very hard to find, as no sign of the building. I wish the place communicate that it is basically an air b&b and that it is right next to the a gelato cafe. Also, it gave me the code for the room but not the entrance, so I have to get hotel.com call the owner and there is no way to contact anyone at 2am.

Great location- terrible check in

Great location and good quality room. My only (major) complaint was the check in process. There was no mail/ communication sent saying that we had to register our check in. And the contact number for the hotel is listed in New York and was impossible to contact. We were stuck outside (with another couple- not part of our trip) for upwards of 90 minutes trying to get in. From there, you need to pay either a deposit waiver or a 200€ deposit which was also not advertised.

The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and have everything you need for your stay. The location is right in the Old Town so there's lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The communication with staff before and during our stay to make sure check in and check out was smooth was brilliant too. We had a suite on the top floor (there is no elevator fyi) and the room was very spacious with a huge skylight window.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of Old Town

Location was perfect for walking around Old Town! The apartment was so beautiful, lovely decorations, beautiful chandelier and balcony. You can easily walk to the history museum and Palace of the Parliament. Cleanest apartment/hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommend.

Great spot in the heart of bucharest old town, really quiet though. Very clean, large room, nice furniture, comfortable bathroom and cosy bed. The only bad thing I could said is about the stairs, as we were on the third floor and there's no elevator.

I have been entirely ripped off of the money I have paid and urge travelers to be aware that The Holt Team make no effort to ensure a good customer experience and make promises they can’t keep. After payment I was sent an sms buy Expedia saying “ Expedia.com. Hello Warren Hammond. We're confirming your stay at HOLT Old Town from Jun 5, 2022 to Jun 7, 2022 (Expedia itinerary #72317339523439)” so to me I was confirmed. The HOLT team then sent me a questionnaire moments before I arrived and would not allow me access to the residence until I had filled out their quesironaire. Despite me repeatedly telling the HOLT Team that I had not data at all as I had just arrived in Bucharest and I had no wifi although I would gladly fill this questionnaire out in hard copy they they said “I had refused to fill this a paper work out and I was refusing to meet their conditions” so they weren’t hearing me Or interested my legitimate reasons. They also constantly wished to argue this point with me and they promised to review the situation with the management team in the USA and let me know if they would refund me for the money paid despite me never even accessing the premises. Three days later they have not come back to me. They have not updated me. They have not given back my money for service and product never used. We all know that as consumers this is disgusting and entirely unethical. Holt taking my money, not allowing me access to the premises and then not refunding me, this is theft!
