  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. The lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great is a dark Romanesque structure that remains virtually unchanged. The venerated relic is in the upper chapel, which was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 16th century and renovated multiple times during the 19th century in Gothic Revival style. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once one of the world's chief commercial cities. Well located hotel

We enjoyed a pleasant 2 night stay in the Hotel Ensor, it is extremely well positioned for all Bruges has to offer and only a 10 minute walk from the train station and in a quiet location. The hotel is a little tired and could do with some TLC but our room was warm and had a nice view of one of the canals. The owner is a charming man, very helpful and friendly.

Hôtel très mignon, dans un cadre très sympa et calme à proximité d'un grand parking et du centre de Bruges. Par contre, pas très propre, même si le lit est refait chaque jour, c'est tout ce qui est fait. Ni la poussière, ni la salle de bain n'ont été nettoyé de tout notre séjour.

Close to centre with lovely staff.

We were really pleased with our recent stay at The Hotel Ensor. The staff were very helpful, allowing us to enter our room early and park our car for free after check out. The breakfast was good quality with a range of choices, definitely a good way to start the day.

Greit hotell i rolig strøk utenfor sentrum. Gangavstand til alt du trenger og vil se i Brugge. Hotellet er ikke av beste standard men ok for et par netter. Noe slitte rom og bad. Frokosten er enkel men inneholder alt du trenger.

Great local hotel in quiet, charming Bruges

The hotel was clean and quiet in an amazing location. Quiet neighbourhood on a canal but less than 10 minute walk from the centre of Bruges. The hotel is in an old building and the rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simple and good. The owner is very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage. Easy check in and check out procedure. The only improvement I could recommend is the shower head did not have a hook and you have to hold it up while you shower. Otherwise, very comfortable stay!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Brugges

Located on a quiet street near the city center. Near a large selection of cafes and restaurants. The center 10 minutes walk. Magnificent panorama from the windows. Pleasant staff. Breakfast is not great variety but hearty and tasty. The best option for this price

Central and very clean hotel

We had a short 4 night stay in Hotel Enso and it was just right. The staff were excellent and really looked after us. The breakfast was just right and the hotel was nice, however what really made our stay was its closeness to the city centre, so close to everything that you could nip back to hotel and drop of bags or shopping or have an afternoon coffee or tea and then head back out again. Absolutely brilliant and it was only ten minutes away from the train station. We really enjoyed our stay ar the hotel and when next in Bruges we will be staying here again.

Super hotel!

Het is een hotel met een super goede ligging! Het ligt rustig, maar als je de straat inloopt ben je meteen in hartje centrum. Heel aardig personeel en erg behulpzaam. De kamers zijn prima, met een groot bed! Bij ons was alleen het ophangstuk van de douch kapot, maar je kon ook gewoon in bad als je wilde. Op het ontbijt hebben we ook niets aan te merken. Het is zeker een aanrader!
