Well kept rental property, clean and well taken care of. Having several properties on a mountain sides this guy does a great job with upkeep and maintenance. The hike to the falls is great just stay close to the river and you will find the trail. Close to downtown yet far enough away for peace and to leave work and life behind.
Property was just as described. Beautiful property and very secluded. My wife and I really enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again!
This property was absolutely amazing! We all enjoy the view and the privacy of the woods. We really loved the cabin and listening to the creek run! I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in this area! The check-in process was awesome and felt like everything was meant just for us! Highly recommend this place!
This cabin was the perfect place for a group of friends and I who traveled from Michigan to visit the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons. Secluded, scenic, comfortable and easy.
The cabin is beautiful. Love the location not to far or close to the city of Bristol. Great place to disconnect and renew. Came during the winter, can't imagine how beautiful it must be during the spring and summer.
This was a great cabin to stay in, we spent time sitting on the large porch and enjoying the cool air and listening to the flowing creek. It was so peaceful. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to take a trip to the mountains that is not so commercialized.
I’ve stayed in a lot of places all over the United States and this cabin by far was the cleanest!
The property managers were very responsive and kept in touch. I give 100% thumbs up on this cabin. Thanks for such a nice place to vacation.
Unfortunately, it poured rain our whole weekend. The trails called to us and I am certain they are beautiful. We were quite content inside the lovely cabin as all our needs were met!
It was our 1st trip Bristol for the NASCAR races and this fit the bill for a great place to stay. We could stretch out and relax between races. The accommodations were super and the host was very friendly and helpful.
This property is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting and listening to the water flowing to the falls. The cabin was in excellent condition and everything was there that we needed. Don't pass this one up!! We are already checking out calendar for next year's trip.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. So peaceful to sit on the spacious porch and listen to the water rushing by. A very nice and unexpected surprise to find a welcome basket with snacks and coffee...especially since I forgot to bring my coffee. I had to reach out to them while there with a question and the response was quick. You will not be disappointed renting this cabin. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Wonderful home to stay in. Six adults stayed in home and we were all comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. Host was very accommodating and responsive. Home is very secluded and quite. A 1/2 hour drive to the speedway. Ate most meals out except for breakfast but well stocked kitchen. Would return to this home again.
We all loved our stay. Everything was extremely clean, neat and organized. The owner answered all of our questions immediately. Great communication. This cabin is absolutely beautiful, so relaxing to sit on the porch and listen to the water sounds below. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a place with serene and astonishing views. We will be back!
This is a well-appointed cabin in a great location. My adult kids and their dad and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving in the woods. We loved exploring the creek, the Mendota trail nearby and Bristol. Lots of interesting things to do in the area, even in the winter. The big porch is a great spot for sipping coffee and watching birds. And I'll definitely be going back in the spring/summer when everything is green and in bloom.
Instructions from owner were very clear and made everything easy.
The sound of the creek rapids from the porch is literally perfection. It is a very nice cabin! Well kept and clean. Its the perfect place to unplug, relax and hike, while also being just 15-20 minutes from loads of restaurants and things to do in Bristol.
The driveway up to the cabin is pretty steep with a sharp turn - an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle would definitely be helpful (our rental 12 passenger van struggled).
Don, the owner, was very responsive too!
This property is in a beautiful setting. I loved sitting on the porch and hearing the water. The house was clean and nice. When we stay in vacation spots like this we respect that it is other people’s house and I do realize not everyone does. I found it unwelcoming with all the signs of what not to do and signs on the locked cabinets that they are not for guests. Also the smell of moth balls is really strong. As the week went on it aired out and was fine. Chemicals that mothballs are made of are toxic to people, especially if anyone has respiratory problems. I understand that there are a lot of mothers around due to the exterior light, but there has to be a better way to decrease moth damage.

Beautiful property, but description is misleading
My family had originally booked this property for October 18 through October 21. However, hurricane Helene hit and we were unable to drive from our residence in North Carolina to this property in Bristol. We asked the homeowner for a refund due to the circumstances of hurricane Helene. He declined stating there was no damage to the property and refused to refund the money even though the roads of Western, North Carolina were impassable, and we were unable to get there due to the hurricane. We came to a compromise that he would allow me to stay December 18 through December 21 as a courtesy. When we arrived at the property, the driveway was a switchback, and if you did not have a vehicle that could access the property you would’ve had to park down at the very bottom and walk 350 feet up a steep incline to get to the property. This information should be disclosed in the actual description of the property prior to booking so that people are not surprised that vehicle cannot make it up the driveway. Additionally, the bottom half of the house that has two queen beds, is only accessible if you go outside. So not ideal for a family stay. the house is well-maintained very clean. However, the furniture is not conducive to relaxation. It’s more of a staging type of furniture with the leather sofas and the dining room table that is meant for short or small people. The listing should really be updated to accurately, reflect those types of things in the property.
Our stay was wonderful. The home was beautiful and the sound of river falling over rocks was so soothing. The town of Bristol was not very far and we enjoyed eating at The Corner Restaurant. Our host definitely had everything covered in a binder if we had any questions. We did contact him and found him to be helpful and kind!
