"Our stay at Harnett House was wonderful! The property was exactly as described, and the photos accurately represent how beautiful it is.The location is peaceful and secluded. The only sounds we heard at night were the wolves howling from the nearby sanctuary, which made the experience even more memorable. And the view—OMG! The mountain views from the back deck are absolutely breathtaking. My son captured an incredible overnight time-lapse of the stars from the deck, and it was the perfect place for astrophotography.The house is exceptionally well stocked with everything we needed, including kitchen essentials, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent, and plenty of extra towels. The beds were very comfortable (we slept like rocks!), and the hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the Canadian Rockies.One thing future guests should be aware of: there were an incredible number of mosquitoes while we were there. That’s simply part of being in a beautiful mountain setting, so be sure to bring insect repellent if you plan to spend much time outside. It certainly didn’t detract from our stay—we would happily come back—but it’s worth being prepared.Robin was an outstanding host. We texted him with a question, and he called us back within five minutes to make sure we had everything we needed.We absolutely loved our stay and only wish we had booked a few more nights. We hope to return to Harnett House again someday. Highly recommend!"
The Lazy Elk - Spacious mountain view Lodge with hot tub

"I have traveled a lot and stayed at many places, but I've never experienced hospitality as excellent as that from Andy and Charlie! Not only did they leave us a kitchen full of homemade goodies and souvenirs, but they added in small, little touches all throughout the home too!A basket in the kitchen complete with bug sprays, bear spray, mosquito repellents, maps, restaurant suggestions, etc. And a basket in each bathroom with multiple types of shaving creams, sewing kits, sanitary items, etc. There were notes everywhere explaining how to use Alexa (who my teen boys thought was hilarious to get stuck on fart songs), how to use the hot tub, how to wash the towels....I didn't have to ask them a single question because they'd thought of it all! This was so refreshing!Now...the home itself is spectacular! I can't even begin to describe the character. It's in every nook and cranny. My musically talented kids absolutely loved the guitar, ukulele, and piano and kept us entertained each night. There is a view of the ginormous mountain from every room! One evening we had a huge double rainbow above the mountain while we were sitting in the hot tub. I mean, you can't get anything better than that.It was a very quick drive into Golden and even faster to the Skywalk. We stayed 4 days in Golden and then headed over to Banff. We all agreed that we wish we'd just extended our stay the entire time at Lazy Elk. Plenty of space, beautiful view, every amenity....book it today!"

"The location and views from this cabin are hard to beat. It’s so private and really feels like you’re away from it all. It’s definitely not for everyone, as it is an extremely rustic cabin with several quirks but it is clean, comfortable and has what you need."

"We had a great time at this property. I will give you some info with in this review that can be very informative. Ron was great with communication and answers questions quickly. The house was very clean, spacious and laid out beautifully. We did not use hot tub, but it looked nice. My one and only complaint is the host request for 3 min showers to conserve water. I respect that but it was very hard with long hair and shaving. We loved having a pool table to play after a long day of hiking as we relaxed in the evening. You will see lots of deer which was always nice. If you come in at dusk be sure to hustle the mosquitoes are brutal. We found the best place to eat was Reposados Mexican in Golden. If you are looking to do Lake Louise it’s about a hour drive from the house. The actual town of Banff is aver 2 hours away. Important info for some. We personally find that this side of the mountain gives us much more reach to do some amazing hikes and adventures. It really depends what you are looking for in the vacation if Ron’s place is a good fit. Our family found it amazing. We hiked Thompson Falls right up road (moderately challenging hike) don’t do this one without bear spray. We drove (1 hour) to natural bridge, Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls. My Uncle and Son did hiking up some major trails at Yoho while we did those other activities. Overall if you are looking for breathtaking views, great hiking and a wonderful home this is the place to rent."
