"Self Parking in a pasture was charged $20.00, a day (very sad) and I am disabled or else pay for Valet parking, which was much higher priced. Those are your options. Was not able to connect to WiFi entire time in room or in public areas of the resort. Took my granddaughter there for getting good grades in school as a surprise gift The Front desk was no help with the wifi connection, they told me to go back to my room and try Margaritaville Guest 2 WiFi that might work. (Never worked) -The 5oclock bar was closed down, so NO beverages at outdoor pool. It was very hot and cannot take your own beverages into gated pool area. ((Very sad) it was hot outside with no hydration available. No advertisements of where to get a breakfast, which is not provided. For a fee, and nothing in room stating where to get amenities for breakfast.you need to advertise where this breakfast is. You have to go walk around the resort to find out what is in the resort and what is open or closed. For beverages. The air vent duct blows directly down on your face when laying in bed, had to get a maintenance worker to physically come and move the vents from blasting in my face. He used a pair of pliers to move vents upward. Never did get WIFI connection the entire time at the resort. Asked front desk several times about this. Granddaughter was upset because, social media has to have wifi connection to send her friends pictures of her experience. Greeting staff was great. "
"The bartender who worked Monday night (March 16) was extremely rude and unprofessional. We ordered two rounds of drinks. The espresso martini from the first round didn't taste like espresso at all, but I drank it anyway because I didn't want to be a pain. When we attempted to order a second round, we stood at the bar right in front of him as he passed us over to serve other customers for 3-5 minutes before I finally asked him if we could order a drink. He finally responded to me. I asked him a question about making a lower calorie/sugar version of a paloma, but he was very clearly irritated that he even had to speak to me. We were the only Black people at the bar, and I couldn't help but notice the difference in the way we were treated compared to the other white customers at the bar. I even asked my husband if he did something to offend him when he ordered the first round of drinks, wondering if that was why we were being treated so poorly. I was also disappointed that Lazia was never open one time while we were there. We were told it was because of a "mishap". Everything else was fine, but the poor treatment from the bar tender on Monday night and Lazia never being open (we were not told this in advance) were two major disappointments."
"Overall a nice hotel. Nice amenities like the pool, fitness room etc. Food & room service typically good, prompt service. Valet service is highly commendable very polite group of employees and very prompt. Check in was slow. However, the following from my viewpoint could be improved: I dropped an earring & looked under the couch it was very dirty, crumbs etc.
Room service food is good but they do forget to include some of the food you order - when brought to their attention they bring it quickly. I've stayed at this hotel before & this has happened several times.
My favorite part of this stay was the elevator. I thought the elevator was stuck because I pushed the down button and the light kept going off. I was on my way to an appointment and needed to go so I decided to take the stairs down - from the 14th floor. I got down to the 2nd floor and noticed there was no door handle/knob so I proceeded to go the the 1st floor same problem no way to get out onto the 1st floor. Interesting. Curious at this point I proceeded to go down which led to the basement where the valet employees park the cars. Very dark rather dirty looking & still had trouble finding a door out. Fortunately, a valet came down a ramp to park a car & offered to take me back up which I was very happy to accept. Apparently, early morning according to a reliable source, the elevator is just slow. I discovered the next morning that it appears to stop every few floors causing a delay. Nice to know that now."
"When I checked in I had booked a room with 1 king bed. I got there and I got to my room and it had 2 queen beds instead. I complained about it but was basically told, “too bad.” The water pressure in the sink was very low. The water just dribbled out. The next morning I was told that breakfast is $20 per person. I went to the front desk and asked because on my reservation it stated that breakfast for 2 is included. The lady at the front desk told me, “okay we will let them know in the restaurant.” After we finished our breakfast they gave us a bill. I explained that I was told that it is included. She called the front desk and they told her that it wasn’t included and I needed to pay. I wish they would have been up front and honest from the beginning."
Hotel Savoy Kansas City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"It is an older building in the heart of downtown so it’s expected to not be perfect condition…this is why I gave it 4 stars. Valet waiting on you, handed keys over and went to front desk. Check in fast. Room was excellent!!!!! TV saying welcome with my name. The bathroom was a true handicap one. Complete roll in shower. Restaurant atmosphere was perfection. Will be back!!!!!! Stay here when you’re needing a place when your downtown KC!!!"
